Who would care if we actually got Fields? You'd have Fields for 2 years with Max Johnson and Parrish competing after him.

He would come in and immediately start over Burrow. I’ll never understand all the Burrow love on this board, the dude is average at best.

I've been saying vthr same thing. I thought he'd be better since he was under Meyer, but he's not even close to what I was hoping for.

Fields would beat out Burrow and Brennan within a couple months of being here.

It's been so long since LSU has had even an average QB that anything close to average looks like a Heisman trophy candidate.

He is claiming racism. That’s the rumor.

It was a former UGA baseball player that was involved in the incident. UGA kicked him off the team and campus. I doubt the NCAA is going let it fly.

I'm afraid Ohio St has all but got Fields as soon as he is released to GEAUX. But we can always pray.

If he does come we lose both QBs because he starts the day he sets foot on campus.

He wouldn't, and that was my point. If Fields couldn't beat him out, then which one is the once per decade player?

Everybody’s jazzed over the consensus no1 QB in high school, Ga was just lucky to sign the top two best.

He forgets about Flynn, Mett and others, LSU defense was lacking for Mett.

All the smoke and signs point that way, but I'm a dreamer, so I'll keep hoping until it's a done deal.

Your point is retarded, and it's exactly what Fields is talking about. There is no way somebody would sit down their already really good, experienced QB just because Fields looks better. Smart probably promised him way more of an actual competition, yet at best he was a wildcat QB.

Nick Saban played Hurts all year while anybody who was paying attention saw that Tua looked like the better passer when he got in at different points in the season. Hurts wasn't losing them games, nor did he look awful enough to replace. It took a really bad half of football from Hurts and Bama as a whole in the NCG, to finally try Tua. Tua was also the #1 high school QB and won the Elite 11 MVP.

If Fields goes to Ohio St's new system or Oklahoma's system, he's going to explode onto the CFB scene just like Murray and Haskins. I'd rather all that crazy talent comes to LSU with a new OC in tow.

My point is no more retarded, and in fact is much more valid, than those on here who think a player should just walk in and start because of his HIGH SCHOOL STAR RATING. If he couldn't beat out an "already really good, experienced QB" on one team, why should anybody automatically assume he would anyplace else? Answer: "but, but, but...he was a five-star." That sounds pretty retarded to me! Geez, come on! How many of the people screaming about how great he is have actually seen him play? Most, if not 99%, are talking out of their asses. By the way, have you actually seen him?

Tua got a chance to prove it. Maybe Fields will, too. Until then, we can do without the overdose of hyperbole.

Fields threw the ball 42 times at Georgia as a back-up - 69%
Burrow threw 39 times at OSU as a backup - 74%

So, high school stats?

Fields threw (Jr. & Sr. years) for 4187 yards, 41 TDs, 65.8%
Burrow threw (Jr & Sr. years) for 8177 yards, 110 TDs, 72.8%

It ain't the LSU QB, gents.
