But his boss, Joe A, needs to step in with some forceful constructive criticism. Just the obvious stuff, turn over late game situations to your staff, etc...the obvious stuff a boss would relay to his subordinate. Nothing major, may hurt Les's ego a tad but he'll need to get over it and continue to do all the other wonderful things he does as HC of LSU.

Are you saying that an AD threaten a coach in Les' position? What's he going to do if Les says no, fire him? When your AD is an idiot and falls for BS reports and gives Miles a raise and extension that is basically impossible to get out of for maybe 5-6 years, he can't say much.

If you can't see the difference between Miles' demeanor in games now as compared to his first few seasons....

I noticed it especially in the 2012 NC game.

Comparing Ferentz and his staff shows how little about the overall situations you look. Are you comparing Iowa and Midwest talent to Louisiana and the South's? Really? Ferentz is overrated too, but two entirely different situations.

I was responding to your implication that Les' success was due to his high staff budgets, but if you are moving the goal posts to discuss staff budgets relative to recruiting bases, I give you Texas as the #2 highest paid staff behind Alabama. Texas has only been ranked one season since 2009 and that was last year when they finished around #20.

Does Texas' recruiting base meet your standards?

'Threaten' is a strong word. Joe A is however Les's boss and Miles doesn't seem like the type to 'rail against authority' in my view, especially given the circumstances of such a talk.

Would Les like the criticism? hell naw, he's a proud man and prolly thinks he's done most everything right, but hey we all gotta answer to somebody above us so he'd get over it.

Besides, you're assuming Les isn't man enough to handle tough criticism, you may want to look at his idol and tutor, Bo Schembeccler(sp), not exactly a people person in his own right.

Kirk Ferentz's Iowa staff is higher paid than LSU's?

That's pretty crazy if true.

Where do you work? The obvious stuff? Being told by your boss to turn over work directly in your duty description to a subordinate?

You're joking right?

I'd assume Miles' reply would be, rightfully, Joe, GFY, you want me to do that? Fire me.

I've been saying this for years....

As far as LSU is concerned, Mack Brown needs to die as the Texas head coach.

Ferentz himself is paid $3.9M/yr with a contract through 2020. The last 5 years he's won 9, 11, 8, 7, and 4 games.

He's pretty stoic on the sidelines too.
