Or a big “covid outbreak” in the Orlando area.

Seriously though I think thats the one part of the team where we can sustain a hit and remain competitive against the better competition

you can't just schedule a week 0 game

If you or your proposed week 0 opponent play @ Hawaii, you're golden. Otherwise you must been an FCS team playing on national TV or have extinuitating travel circumstances (like playing in Dublin for ex. ND/Navy this wknd).

Only recent exception was UF/Miami petitioned and were allowed to play wk0 in 2019 for no apparent reason given by the NCAA.

We tried to get Grambling moved but no dice. Not sure why Kayshon was allowed to pick the game he was suspended last year but it must be week 1 for Maason, tho

They should have scheduled a game in week 0 and I would do it every year I could where I played in one of these stupid neutral site games.

Every team would do it if possible to get an extra bye week. Unfortunately it doesnt work like that

It's not like I don't understand the hurdle but it's also not like it can't be done because it's done yearly. They just didnt want to pay the price and thats why it didnt get done; not because Grambling "said no"

How is it done yearly then?

It sounds like you don't understand the requirements to play a week 0 game. Has nothing to do with not wanting to "pay the price" (whatever that means) and its not up to Grambling either.

You're right...you're the only one who understands the requirement for a Week 0 game.

Well you obv dont if you think its ab money. We would absolutely pony up if it meant we

1. Get a warm up game like FSU did last year vs Duquense (who played @ Hawaii later in the season)

2. Get an extra BYE week during the SEC meat grinder

Why does it seem like every poster with Grad in the name seems like someone who shouldn't have the term graduate associated with them in any way?

One guy isn’t going to matter. We still win by two touchdowns.

Week zero games have been around for decades; I'm not sure what about that you don't understand or needs to be explained. The concept isn't new.

What is new was LSU's desire to change one to week 0 this year and how much of a desire it actually was.

Ausberry just talked earlier this year about when and where they placed the Army game in reaction to their option offense. In regards to Grambling....Verge said, "In some years that might fit what we need to do but right now we are NOT looking in that direction."

So while they may say now they tried to move the game to Week 0 but not lets sit here and act like it was impossible...they just weren't willing to pay the (literal and figurative) "price". That week zero game would have had ALOT of implications on the rest of the schedule but I wish and think they a week zero game would be a requirement when they schedule these neutral site games.
