If you think Saban is coaching until he's 70, you've fallen on your head. Go listen to the interview Moscona did with Pete Jenkins. Saban brought in Pete at LSU. Pete worked for him for 2 years and told him he loved him, but at 65 years old, he wasn't going to keep working 48 weekends out of the year with only 4 weekends off. Saban didn't fully understand, but he was ok with it. He and Saban have remained friends. Saban is Pete's age now when Pete left him. He spoke to Pete at the end of last year and told him he finally understood what he meant about not wanting to keep up at that pace. Saban told him he felt really tired after last year.

Well I will say this, Saban is one of college football's best coaches ever. I don't like the man but its hard to argue with the success he's had at both LSU and Bama. However, at the end of the day, Saban will go where the money is. Loyalty means nothing to Saban when a AD is dangling millions in front of him.

Yea, he'll be retiring soon with either Kiffin or Sark taking his place.

You have to not only consider it, but make the call. Same goes for Urban Meyer. LSU gave Miles a huge buyout and is firmly among the top jobs in the country. You go after the best if that's the case.
I'm not saying either would accept, I'd be shocked if they did frankly, but if you never ask you'll never know. The worst they'll say is no

NO, nor should we look at a coach that has 30 years of coaching either.

Exactly, it's like asking out a beautiful women, all she can say is no. Best case she says yes and halfway through the first date you find out she's a freak that digs it in the butt! Home run!!!!

tiger fans would be a little pissy, but after winning a couple of games, they would fall in line and worship him like sheep.

And only a very small % would be pissy. Everyone else would love it.

Even if this is completely far fetched, Saban will hate it just because it's a distraction to him and he hates answering questions about job openings.

LSU should hit the school of every major coach just to show interest. Who knows maybe lightening strikes again. Worst case they say no and it causes conversation on an extension and pay raise

I would call Pere Carroll also, he may want to get back into college and go head to head with Saban in the SEC!

We shouldn't settle for less, all he can say is no. We will never know if we don't ask.

Well, can't say that thought didn't cross my mind. But, as great as it sounds, Saban wouldn't leave Alabama for LSU or any other school. His legacy has already been established at Alabama and at his age I'm sure he has started thinking on those lines. Rumor had it that when he decided to leave Miami and return to college football, his first trip was Baton Rouge and he was told no. LSU could have had him at that time but passed. And if LSU would have pulled that trigger, we'd be celebrating 5 or 6 NC's. That being said, I do believe, if Saban were to ever leave 'Bama for another school, it would be LSU. Finish what he started.

LSU should offer Saban 5 years 12 million and make Bama match that then hire Jimbo or Herman.
