I dont give a damn who starts next year, but if they get in there and turn it over, WHOEVER it is has gotta come out.

That said, JL does not have a shot unless he improves his footwork in the pocket, pocket awareness, and needs at least a bit more mobility to have a chance to succeed.

JJ needs to work on his throwing motion, and fil out that frame with about 10-15 pounds.

It is simple though, with the talent around them, they MUST protect the ball. Lets face it, aside from being mobile, JJ didnt look too great chunking it. But being competitive, mobile, a vocal leader, and protecting the ball should put him in front going into the Spring.

Depth Chart:
1. JJ
2. Shep/Hatch
3. Garrett
4. JL (transfers? he may not see the field again)

Say what you want but Hatch doesn't turn the ball over on a consistant basis. Think back to the first few games, Hatch clearly knows the offense better than JL, but he obviously has a noodle for an arm. I'll take him backing up JJ before JL. JL is afraid to get hit, period! Not getting that first down against bama on 3rd and 3 and you have an open field to run at least 5 yds, shows cowardness! JL got lucky beating auburn with a couple of "Brett Farve" gunslings that would have been picked off against good competition, oh wait, 7 or 8 pick 6's (i forgot the total he had) and 16 INTS, goodbye Jamie Howard, oops, I mean Jarrett Lee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wonder who is the coward, JL busting his butt on the field or you hiding behind a keyboard calling him a coward.

Is this thread even necessary? I feel like going back to lee would be backtracking the progress lsu made during the bowl season. How could you go back to a guy who struggled week in and week out for a guy who just lead the team to a big bowl victory over a ranked team?

JJ is far superior and is our starter next year.
Robbob bt cannot admitt their wrong.

Jl did not have one game like JJ's bowl game.

LSU is being ranked no. 5 in next years polls because of JJ's prformance.

JL will never see the feild again for LSU short major injuries.

I'm not the only one who disagrees with you, but NFL analyst Mike Detillier who evaluates talent for a living disagrees with you about who has more potential. He stated before JJ ever started a game at LSU that the next time LSU was holding up the crystal ball would be when JJ is the QB.

Does it make you feel like a man to take cheap shots at our players? There is plenty to be said about his poor performance, but those of you calling him names and hoping he transfers are huge losers. Internet geeks who wouldn't dare say those things to his face.

Any one that can't see that JJ is the best QB on the team and one of the most promosing young QB's in college football has no idea of what they are talking about.

This is why you cant argue intelligently with JJ fanatics. The difference in JLs yr and JJs bowl game was 1 thing - defense

Had LSU been behind or the game close vs. GTech, these same buffoons would be screaming their heads off at what a piss poor QB JJ was. But with the lopsided score, 2 fumbles that should hvae been GTech TDs, 2 dropped picks, 2 missed TDs of wide open receivers, 3 pts, only 13 yds passing in the 2nd half, all are suddenly forgotten. That wont work with an SEC team.

JJ gets a pass because the defense finally made a huge difference.

If the defense steps up next yr, any of our QBs will be successful, even Hatch.

most of these tards aren't JJ fanatics.. they DESPISE JL... if JJ struggles in 09, they will be the first to scream for RS. wait and see what I tell you.

They dont even consider defensive play... that's getting way over most of these idiots heads.

Hell no! I was just pointing out the stupid question. JJ is a no brainer to be the starter for 2009.

There seems to be a post like this going all the time. JL was given his shot last year for about 10 games - HE MADE ABSOLUTELY NO PROGRESS. What scares me is that people will say that he looked great in practice this spring, just like he looked good in practice last year. I just don't see a likely scenario that he gets to start again, unless JJ really underperforms or is hurt. Even then, I think it likely Hatch or RS get snaps. This is a really sad situation with this kid, and it wasn't all his fault, but he probably should move on to reignite his career, or ride wood for 3 yrs. @ LSU. KC.
