Drew Breese does it all the time. Burrow in his 4th start as a college quarterback should know better.

TIL that Burrow should be as good as "Drew Breese"

With his arm strength if he was starting down his target he would have multiple picks already. Some of it is when the D is in zone he’s waiting on the wr to find the hole so he can look one way for a sec. but he can get to his 2nd and 3rd targets fine. And we hadn’t had a qb that could get through his progressions like joe n a while.

He doesn't have the time...the pocket is usually collapsing around him and he has to sidestep or flat out run for it.

Burrow is quite capable of,checking down. What he is doing is reading the defense presnap. Based on the pre snap read he knows where to,go with the ball. Burrow is the bast we have had in years at reading a defense. He uses the whole field. And or Coach E let’s him use the whole field. It is huge when we make the defense defend the middle and the edge. We have had at least 10 drops. Watching the games there have probably been 8;or 10other times when the WR missed his read. Any way. It has been a long time since we had someone who could do this.

He has to read the safeties pre snap and post snap in a millisecond. Safety play dictates to him what he could have underneath and what he could do to attack deep with certain route combos to pull a safety off Now should he see a uneven alignment out wide ( like Jimbo did with bubble and tunnel screens) we can throw a quick hitter. With RPOS he has to read the box. This is also why motion helps determine man or zone pre snap then read safeties post snap from high to low. But many of our plays don’t need all that if we think they are on man and we run man beaters like a quick slant or drag.

I really don't think this is the case. He seems to have more confidence/chemistry with some receivers but hopefully that will develop with others as he settles in. Remember that he only met these guys mid-summer.

Heck, no! The really good quarterbacks never look at more than one receiver.
