Man, Aranda is so smart he's probably just showing zone so that another team watches the film and thinks it's zone with a fake zone so that he could bait them into thinking it's zone when it's not zone and then we get them.

The opposing coach and quarterback would think, "They're in zone - now we've got them," but then we play man, cause Aranda would say, "Nah man, we don't really play zone, why would we with Fulton, Stingley, and Delpit?"

We aren’t doing much better in man and with no pass rush man coverage will look even worse.

That’s assuming we don’t develop a pass rush. I know we haven’t seen it yet, but that doesn’t mean it can’t happen. With KLC, Divinity, Delpit, etc, there’s zero reason we shouldn’t be able to get pressure.

Going to be tough when you play 10+ yards off the ball

We have the EXACT QB and WRs as last year too. Are you saying players can’t improve year to year? We had 4 defensive starters out, all play a big part In Generating pass rush.

No. The only way to improve is to run it and coach mistakes. They’re better in man but will need to mix it up at some point. Need to work out the bugs early

And an entirely new offensive scheme.

No. I’m saying I’m not sure why everyone expected the DL to drastically improve with the same personnel.

True. It was also Northwestern state. I’m not worried about the defense on the whole. I was encouraged by our 2nd half dominance last night and by our first half dominance against UT. That doesn’t mean the defense doesn’t have weaknesses that we’ll have to try and minimize. One of those very well may be our pass rush. I trust Aranda will figure it out.

Even with all the guys out last night we still should been able to pressure Northwestern

The fact that we couldn’t is concerning.

Our backups should be able to beat their starting O line at least a few times.

Can anyone explain to me how we don’t get a pass rush? I just don’t get it, are Logan Shelvin Rashard Fehoko all run stopping D lineman cus saying we don’t have the talent just sounds absurd to me
