I don't think he's been bad

2 innings, 61 pitches, 5 hits, walk, 3 ER, 2 doubles. 6 of the 12 batters reached base. Yeah not too bad.

LSU pitching can’t throw strikes and it’s a problem.

3 of the hits were simple ground balls through the infield. Including one of the doubles that hit off of the 3B's glove. Process over reuslts

INF positioning has been problematic through two SEC weekends, as the same thing happened last weekend.

Texas has fouled off a lot of good pitches as well. Kudos to them. They give tough at bats.

He’s struggled with location, but more than that is he only seems to have two pitches with he secondary pitch being a slider that typically moves outside the zone. Not spotting the fastball is one thing, but if you have nothing but a slider, you’ll never get good hitters to swing and miss at offspeed. He needs to develop a curve and/or change that stays around the zone to get guys off the fastball.

Shores has gotten 9 outs

6 ground outs + 3 K's

UT has 3 cheap hits

-Gasparino doubled to third base off the 3B glove
-Mendoza singled to right field where the 2B plays
-Rodriguez singled to left field on what would have shattered a wooden bat into pieces

They've fouled off 14 pitches in 3innings. Tough little lineup. They have a few barrells but Shores has not been terrible.

He stays behind in the count on just about every hitter. We have a giant 2 pitch junk ball pitcher.

Agree he is battling. If the offense can wake up anything can happen.
