I was at practice today and thought he really stood out. Had some big catches in 11 on 11 and was going up and getting the ball over DB’s. Encouraging to see him start to live up to the hype he had coming out of high school

Assuming he sticks around long enough, I think he would eventually be another great LSU WR. He's got the talent for sure. In the next couple years I think he will shine.

Is he? I haven't really heard much about him at all. I didn't think he was even running with the 2's

Why would he not stick around if he is going to be the next great LSU receiver? He’s only a sophomore.

he was sat out a few practices as a precaution because he hurt his head when he came down after a catch. He's had a couple big time catches in practice.

if he made it through year 1,the only reason he would leave in Y2 is if he couldnt win the job going into Y3. Which means there are better WRs that will see the ball instead

Not starting WR at LSU doesn't mean you're not that good. Look at the dude that went to Nebraska. LSU is just stacked at WR. There's just not room sometimes.

He’s going to flash this year. Might not start, but if he flashes at the right time and builds trust in moments when needed, he will make his way no doubt. Talent is undeniable.

That’s good to hear, I hope he can contribute. My original post wasn’t a knock on him, I was just was saying I don’t know if I would consider making some catches over DB’s in practice as living up to the 5 star WR coming out of high school.

I mean second team all big ten and a 6th round draft pick

The guys point made complete sense. Not being able to start WR at lsu doesn’t mean you aren’t good

Sampson seems to be a year away. I think he shows flashes this year, but he hasn't been consistent enough at this point.

His overall point was fine, it’s just funny that he is talking about how good a guy that played for LSU for 3 years is but he doesn’t even know his name.

I’d expect him to get more playing time this year but the WR room is loaded with older guys. Hopefully he gets some real SEC experience and gets some TDs under his belt because going into 2025-2026 season you won’t have Lacey, Hilton, CJ Daniels, or Z. Thomas. It would be up to Sampson, Anderson, K. Parker, and company.

Older, unproven players though.

There are balls for the taking and a void for a big WR like Sampson on a mostly small WR group
