People who say bama isn't that good are idiots. They have killed everyone on their schedule. Everyone said mochigan would give them a game and then they beat them by 40 and therefore Michigan is overrated.

said this exact same thing earlier this week after reviewing both LSU's an UA's scheds. Weak opponents on Bam's helps to keep them healthier as well. Doesn't take away from the fact that they are loaded with talent though, and are playing well.

Two team on their schedule every year that are normally good are in down years (Auburn & Ar-Kansas).

USC proved years ago that you can play shitty teams week in a week out and still make the ship.

Their schedule sucks. For as much as they talk its as if they have played the number 2-6 teams in the country and have steamrolled them all. I hope they blowup MSU and come in confident as ever. I can't remember a time of such arrogance it seems from another teams fanbase. Crazy

Not really concerned about how good bama really is, if LSU can play some offense, LSU can win regardless

They may not have played a very tough schedule, but they pass the eyeball test. LSU, not so much.

Really doesn't matter. They've toyed with just about every team they've played. Fact is, there are no other good teams in football this year. Look at the top 10. What team there is gonna give them a run? Notre Dame? Puhlease...ND is there because the media never gets off the golden dome jock like USC every year. Florida>? Not a chance...UF is markedly improved, but sports a solid D and a decent running back. They are number 2/3 because there's no other team capable of taking it from them. This is a boring year for college football. Oklahoma is the best of a shitty Big 12/10 or what ever the hell they are called now...KSU looks good but plays in said conference. OSU, PSU are ineligible. USC and Oregon are dominant in fairy land on the west coast...whoopty doooooo!!!

It is the same story as last year where they had the "best" D in the country. LSU was right behind them in nearly every statistical category. The biggest difference: WVU and Oregon.

I've honestly always wanted to do a common opponent break down, but until I do that I will settle for the eyeball test.

From your link:

quote:

10. LSU: 26-25 (.510), Three of seven opponents have winning records. Three opponents in the BCS standings.

11. Alabama: 24-25 (.490), Three of seven opponents have winning records. One opponent in the BCS standings.

But like many have said, Alabama has demolished everybody they've played pretty much by halftime. LSU had to hold on against Auburn, struggled around with Towson, etc. The eyeball test isn't close right now.

Alabama is the best team in the country right now. You can see it in their athleticism, discipline, and consistency. That being said, our defense is very strong and athletic and can compete with anyone. We can win, but we need to minimize mistakes - just a few penalties and no turnovers. Another key is to make first downs to keep the D off the field. If we are successful, it will be a low scoring game where we win on a FG. We were w/in striking distance on 1/9 until the 4th quarter and our O was simply horrendous in that game. Most of our problem was that the players were not mentally in the game like they were in November.

I work for a company that recruits for employees right out of college from BAMA so there's about 10 of them in my dept alone. And the air of entitlement to the throne of football immortality is at an all time high. Never seen the levels of cockiness from a fanbase.

And who has LSU played? Ours is just as weak and we have not dominated anyone but washington.

No one yet! Bama has a gimmie schedule until Nov. 3rd. The only thing that worry's me is LSU's discipline! Les doesn't seem to care much. How many penalizes did we have last week? 13 I think , this late in the season!

And the stupid personal fouls on third downs that keep opponents drives alive.

Coonass, I love your EGG.

But he's right. Not only has their offense put points on the board, their defense is allowing little or nothing. We looked much the same last year. They will have to bring their best game to Tiger Stadium and I know they will. We will have to bring our best...and that sort of worries me.

We had destroyed everyone last year with quality opponents and were not favored against bama
