So you're saying that maybe next year LSU is on the cusp again and you'll have a different opinion?

no, i'm saying if LSU had a better record and played like they deserved to go, then i would be pissed.

Truth is this team fricking sucks and does not deserve to go. They had PLENTY of chances to amend themselves during the season, but did not take advantage. So, On to next year..

go look at some of the threads from earlier today.

Why do I have to do the research for your shitty defense? There's already 30 posts in this thread against you so please link us and prove us wrong.

what are you comparing this to? if youre comparing our performance to some of the teams mentioned in this thread, which is the only thing important, then youre crazy if you feel we deserved it

Well can you at least admit that my point is valid. Compared to the field LSU should have been in. Do I think we deserved to be in? No..we played like crap and we crapped the bed when we had the chance. Do I think we should have been in? Yes, we are a better team then a lot of those team and our facilities are better, plus we have fan support.

Tell that to Baylor and K-State and let me know what they say.

Take the names of the schools, conferences and their geographic regions away from Baylor, SJU, KSU, OSU, LSU and Dallas Baptist and something tells me the results would be different than what occurred today.

This would actually make sense when these decisions need to be made ... hide the names and look purely at the resumes. Would be interesting to see how the selections would turn out. Of course that's asking too much from the NCAA.

This makes no sense whatsoever.

Of course they'd be in if the had one more SEC win. But they don't. Based on the SOS, RPI, Conf records, etc. LSU has a more legitimate argument than 5-7 teams noted in this thread.

yea, they should have been in over some of the teams that got in. i agree with that.

all i'm sayin is that i'm not as pissed apparently as all of you because i didn't feel like they deserved to get in.

to say this team got shafted is just ridiculous. they didn't earn anything.

Compared to past LSU teams yes, compared to BU, K-State, St. Johns, Troy, Jacksonville, etc.. not so much.

Dude. Shut up. We didn't get in because we had a suck arse conference record. Get over it.

We were three games behind Arkansas, who fininished first and a game behind State who went 2 and q in Hoover. That argument really holds no merit, as every team from the west had a "suck arse record"...yet 3 western teams got in...none of whom finished above .500 in SEC play.

We didn't get in because we didn't have a voice on the committee. What if we would have had Alleeva and Mike Slive on that committee? You think we're not in?

the STONE COLD FACT is that the committee weighted criteria differently for different teams

RPI was important for baylor, not for st. johns
overall record was important for dallas baptist, not for baylor
conference record was important for st. johns, not for baylor or kansas state

that is the ONLY logical explanation for the selections, and that is flat out fricking wrong

Deserving or not, they should have been in. I'm not pissed they didn't get in. I was fine with the decision, but when I saw the field that pissed me off.

If anything there would be a bias towards LSU and the SEC cause they bring the viewers and fans to Omaha. But alas, outside of Baton Rouge, then to a lesser extent some other SEC towns, and then a handful of other enclaves here and there..

no one gives a rats arse about college baseball. It's not important enough to have any "bias" against the SEC.

They have a valid arguement. The only argument I have heard from the other side is LSU was shitty compared to LSU standards not compared to the arbitrary standards that allowed teams lesser than LSU to get in.

Since 2000, its been clear that the NCAA is trying to expand the sport.

Storrs, CT as a regional site for a weak #2 seed?

They deserve to be in the 64 based on the stats of the other 5-7 or so schools that were the last in. If that is the metric that the selection committee is "going by"

Then don't argue against our points if you fundamentally agree with us.

An LSU brings fans to wherever we go. Baseball is big in Louisiana, and no matter who would have hosted LSU we would have packed their stadium with our own fans. Now some regionals might not even be packed...(my sleeper is Navy!)
