Everybody likes to claim their championship team was the greatest all time but after seeing what these tigers are doing in the NFL it’s pretty clear that the 2019 LSU team was the greatest ever.

The 2019 team was the greatest ever, but players’ post-college accomplishments/failures have nothing to do with it.

Sure doesn’t. But it’s so much more fun to keep up with them in the pros after they’ve given us that gift of 19!

They allowed less points than our offense scored every game. That’s literally all you can ask of a defense.

How about that? Cincinnati pounding Baltimore! Totally agree with your post. I’ll add the obvious as well that our coaching was just so much better as in 2019 was prime rib and 2021 being wal mart pizza. The team in 2019 seemed to have solid leaders that got everyone to push it to the limit. This team now seems to be selfish and not too concerned with winning or even playing. One of my theories could have been tested to see if O had left for good, would the players all of a sudden play well for an IHC. Let’s hope our next HC and a new crop of players gets us back on track.

How much money did Coach O make for Burrow? He went all in for Burrow who hadn’t started.

Had Burrow gone to Nebraska, he would have never been the GOAT and he would have been a late round pick at best.

These type of hypotheticals never make much sense to me. Everyone gets credit for the greatest season ever.

I think if the question is what team was the best over the course of the entire season a few teams were more dominant against similarly difficult schedules. There were three games that LSU won by one score (Texas, Alabama, Auburn). Compare that to 1995 Nebraska (closest game was a 14 point win) or 1972 USC (closest was a 9 point win). But LSU became a different team once Grant Delpit was healed up and the defense went from OK to great. Fully healthy 2019 LSU is the best college team ever.
