that's the case why didn't they side with SC when the pitcher realized he was out of time and tried to play it off as an earpiece malfunction??

If it’s not challengeable and judgement call why can they change their minds minutes later? Umps deserve to be roasted and have to answer for it.
That’s what really pissed me off. He’s called out but the the umps convened and essentially challenged and reversed the call when the play was a non challengable play. They violated their own rule. LSU needs to make an issue of this circus.

It is if the batter steps out and time isn't granted. Which it wasn't. Now if that nonsense they made up during the break nullifies it all I don't know.

No batter in the box, time wasn’t called, pitcher throws the ball to catch a runner at the base. Where is the balk and where is the interference?

But why back off if they had a preferred outcome in mind that wasn't LSU winning???
If thata truly why they fricked up the call, why stop there,?? Why not double down to ensure they preferred outcome???

Had Neil stayed behind the plate to catch ball. Because the batter backed out the box, it was strike 3, inning over. That's one away it could have gone down. The rubber steak works become dead cause he wasn't even close to the plate yet when batter stepped out.
Another way was a pitch out
Another way could have been Herring stepping off rubber to throw to Neil.
If any of these 3 would have been executed correctly, it was inning over still tied.

I'm just tickled that the officials had a post game press conference. This should be mandatory after all games in all levels of all sports.

That dipshit had better be demoted.

The pitcher was set and threw. The umps agreed it was a pitch. If it hadn’t been, the rule they incorrectly enforced would not have applied.
The pitch hit Neal’s glove before the runner got close, so that should have been that. The umps got so distracted by everything else going on that they forgot to make the simple call.

Not saying I disagree about the bad call for catcher interference but
By rule there is an exception for when a batter may step out of the batters box: A defensive player attempts a play on a runner at ANY base. So anyone saying that the batter illegally stepped out of the batter’s box is wrong.

Just watched this.
Like all corrupt entities, they investigated themselves and found no wrong doing. They then presented an imaginary scenario where the rule would apply, only to admit that this magic scenario did not happen yesterday.
This is what happened, which is what the SEC was busted with many times during football season: One of the umps has an ear piece where a good ole baw from the SEC (Bama alum from Bham) will tell him what to call after the fact. He buzzed him, and the boys in blue were happy to oblige.
Coincidentally, this is the second HUGE frick job the SEC has delivered to LSU this year (Daniels being targeted) where the head ref was from Louisiana and more than happy to frick LSU.

The batter stepped out of the box first.
So you’re wrong.
