What we witnessed in the 10th inning of the 12-11 LSU win over SC must never be allowed to happen ever again. The SEC official interview post game became a bigger travisity of incompence by reading out of the RULE book with no explanation how or why THIS rule was applied in real game time sequence.
At the very least any and all umps makeing this call should Never ump another SEC game.
It's one thing to make a mistake it's another to not take responsibility for a mistake !

The body politic of officiating does not allow for umps to admit mistakes. That’s why we have replay now. But they still seem to find a way to become players in the game.

What happened yesterday was absurd. Clearly there wasn’t enough there for a violation of the rule. And nobody is talking about it but the batter backed out of the box before Neal made his move. No batter to interfere with.

The SEC needs to make public all decisions and actions that come from this

They must’ve forced the reporters to ask nothing but softball questions. Why didn’t they just ask them if they still believe the call was correct after reviewing the video, because obviously they looked at the tape before the press conference. Also, how did the call change from the out call

Nothing will happen. If history has taught us anything, this is just a feature of this conference and not a bug. Every sport is corrupt. This isn't incompetence. It is too blatantly obvious.

Judgement calls are always changed, especially after 3 minutes. Happens all the time!

I was just pissed no one in the media told that SEC putz that the catcher wasn’t in front the plate, nor did he step on it.

I agree nothing will happen...as a non Bama fan we fellow SEC fans can only hope that "things " will change now that almighty all powerful King Saban is retired?
I've thought and said for years the SEC HQ located in Bamaland, I mean Birmingham speaks for itself.

Being stupid is a requirement to be a sports official. And the stupider you are, the more you move up in the profession.

I just listened to Mark Kingston's press conference. It sounds like USC initiated the challenge with the officials on the call at home. If that's how it happened, it's even more BS. That would mean the officials were not even thinking about overturning the call. Not one of the officials actually saw something that caused them to challenge the call among themselves. They let an opposing coach plant a seed of doubt in their head and ran with it. Pathetic.

Yes they are but it’s usually after a discussion by the umpires to see if another umpire had a better view of the play. That was not the case in this senerio. Unless the home plate umpire didn’t know the rule which is a bigger problem in itself
