I've found that a lot of the time the people that are the hardcore Orgeron loyalists are the ones that make a statement in his defense and that statement can also be used against him just as your example did. It's quite comical.

That's not to say they're all like that. I'm just talking about the excuse makers.

I really don’t get it either.

People were ECSTATIC when he got hired to replace brick.

I myself was not as enthusiastic, and even then was confused. Was this guy not heavily rumored to be a dirty recruiter at ole miss? Didn’t he actively recruit McKnight away from Louisiana? And people are excited he’s on our staff???

It does seem a lot of the fans fall under 2 categories:

1) Louisiana’s native son, comeback story, America is the land of 2nd chances

2) DP - say what you want about him, but he has run a very very impressive PR campaign for O since September 2016. I think he is basically a valve for access to O, and if you want access you have to go through DP. And so the Hannigriffs the Detilliers and the Billy Gomillas of the world will keep that positive spin in the local news up, which, considering this is a state full of rubes who love Trump, will believe almost anything that sounds like what they want to hear.
