quote:i have 2 accounts because a few years ago when you could still transfer tics i bought some from someone and had them transfer them into my brother's name. up until this year i've gotten sec champs tics every time and also had really good luck with away game tickets. in almost every case where i've gotten tics instead of getting only 2 like most people on here i've gotten 4 because i had the 2 accounts. why would you think that's dumb?
Why on earth do you have 2 accounts? That's dumb.
quote:i've never donated to taf to this point and will never donate anything significant because you aren't guaranteed tickets. i'd rather just pay extra and find tickets elsewhere if my requests aren't filled.
And donate more if you want to get tickets.

When parents transfer tix to a blood relative, the TAF points start from scratch for the new person getting tix?

Seconded, why would I make an non tax deductible donation when I can just go to STUB HUB and get a seat? Plus 1000, what I am paying for my two seats in 116, (500 each), would only get me 4 points and still not be enough to get me any tickets through LSU.
I would never donate just to donate with the chance of not getting any tickets. I'm willing to personally pay STUB HUB extra for the cost of having my tickets in hand.
I booked my hotel at OMNI in downtown ATL for 2 nights at 159 a night, the cheapest allowed under the WALMART rate.

this was years ago around 01 or 02 when you could still transfer to anyone you wanted to transfer them to.

It is tax deductible. And maybe people like to donate to an athletic program of their Alma Mater?

I thought you never paid more than $90 for a hotel room??

Look at what the Regular room rate is though without the use of WALMART. $399 a night. Any fan that travels and doesnt use the friends and family rate codes is throwing away money....
I typically do not pay more than 90 a night, but this is a NICER hotel than I typically stay at, for one, and seconded, its location will save me from needing a rental vehicle, which there is no WALMART code for.

I feel I donate enough eating and drinking at the games. shite, one burger without any lettuce, tomato or onion is $6.00.
They oughta be ashamed to serve just a meat and bread burger.

the cutoff for BCS will be closer to 4000 - it was around 3200 in 2007 when both schools got 16,000 tickets and now schools get 17,500

They gave more people 4 tickets in 2007.

If anyone got tickets that can't make it, please let me know. Apparently my father-in-law forgot to put in for some.

only very high up TAF got 4 tickets in 2007 BCS just like it will be in 2011 - everyone over 750 TAF who gets tickets will get 2 tickets

we got fricking screwed. somehow we were approved for bowl game/bcs championship tickets and every other game we've ever requested, including Bama this year and Oregon, but weren't for sec championship game tickets, and we only requested 2 for this game. crazy considering we have a ton of priority points from my grandfather having season football tickets for 50+ years, baseball since around 1990, and basketball longer than that. had to pay 250 bucks a piece for lower levels on stub hub

Did you call the ticket office with your ranking and proof of request? I would have tried that before buying others.

My dad e-mailed them and they gave him some song and dance about request numbers being higher than normal, but it still doesn't make sense considering we've never not gotten tickets we've requested, regardless of the demand. I didn't want to wait until Monday when the ticket office opens because the prices are only going to get higher, and if things didn't work out, I could have cost myself a coupe hundred more dollars. We could have gotten tickets in a package through the alumni association for 800 bucks a person, but I currently live in Atlanta, so that would have been pointless.

Well what is his priority point rank?

How do I do this?

not sure, didn't ask him. I do know he gives around 4 grand or so a year to TAF plus our account has had season tickets for football since the 50s, baseball since around 90 and basketball since the mid 80s. I feel pretty confident we have enough priority points. I find it strange we got Bama tickets (and every other game we've ever requested), which were very hard to come by, and not this game.

Yeah it sounds like if you've always gotten tickets and you have the points you think you have, there was a mixup somewhere and whoever your dad talked to was just giving a generic answer.
