Ah! Well, went straight from school to church rehearsals... missed it, but saw Rousse's letter.

The Pandora’s box that would have opened is something the smart people in the SEC couldn’t let happen.Obviously the TENN pres was one of the ignorant ones.Nobody wants their dirty laundry exposed and for all 16 members that what would have happened if she would have gotten her way.You can’t fix stupid.

SEC called off the vote to expel
It's been said ad nauseum but it bears repeating: If the SEC had gone through with their vote every business entity, student athlete and person related to or dependent on the LSU football program and the income from the broadcast contracts would have sued them into oblivion.
Haters are going to say "LSU backed down", but LSU did nothing but act according to their word - "we will comply with SEC rules". And they did.
It was the SEC who backed down, which was their only choice after Kiffin filled the last two roster spots. There wasn't anything left for Sankey to hang his hat on other than the thought crime of "they maybe, possibly, could have intended to break the rules in the future".
Yeah, that was going to go over like a lead balloon in the courts, and Sankey finally realized that fact.
Good for him. Now let the atonement begin.
