Screen passes are very important, if executed. They can minimize a blitz. Great teams have great screen games. Almost all of them. We really need to use that. We have not had a good screen game in a while. Maybe this year it changes. It’s a difference maker

From watching practice videos, looks like a lot more screens, quick options, reverse options, etc.

That goes along with what they were talking about with putting their best players in space. Can’t wait to see CEH and Jamarr take some screens to the house

I feel like for the last decade we’ve been playing with one hand behind our back. Great defense. Predictable offense. We can’t be predictable. The screen pass does that

That goes for our defense too. We’ve been burned on screen passes a lot. It needs to be covered, but that’s easy for me to say, sitting in a chair. Drinking a beer. I think we have really good coaches. I trust these guys. I think it’s a great time to be a Tiger!

The screen game was so bad last year that if we ran one and it worked I did a fricking touchdown dance.

Pee wee teams have better screen games than we did.

This sounds like a John Madden quote.

1+. It seems like our screens averaged a loss of 5 yds/play.
The question is: why is our screen game sooo bad?
I sure hope we'll start utilizing WR's in our screen game like everyone does w/ good success.

We never could screen pass successfully. I don’t know why.

To expose a defense with a screen, you need a qb that can read a defense....

Theres a lot of moving parts to a screen play and timing is important. Last year, the o-line just couldn't seem to release and get upfield to set up blocking.

There were also a handful of times last year that the running back got blown up. In the UGA game The defense sniffed out the play and a linebacker went straight for CEH and did just enough to disrupt his route and blow up the timing of the play.

I don't know why that was. Maybe there was something the team telegraphed in setting up screen calls.
