I love when people act like they would’ve easily made a different choice than SW If they were athletics director. Hilarious to me.

What elite coach would want to come to LSU? Crazy people act like we could just pick up the phone and get a top 5 coach to drop everything and come to LSU.

For the last freaking time LSU will never be able to hire an elite basketball coach because those type only want to coach at schools that put basketball first. Not third you idiot.
For goodness sakes some of y’all wouldn’t know what a good AD looks like if it slapped you in the face. Look at all of his other hires he’s made so far. Pretty dang good so far don’t ya think?
My how quickly you have forgotten what LSU had as an AD before Woody came back to fix this mess of an athletic program.

Firing Wade killed LSU mens basketball.

Scott hired a dud coach to replace WW. That’s his fault. He should’ve hired an elite coach.
No elite coach would have come to LSU under those circumstances. Frankly, MBB nerds are lucky that a coach of MM’s caliber took the bait.

Small sacrifice to keep the football operation running. Business move all the way.

Sure, he has done great with football, baseball and WBB, but he destroyed the MBB program and there is no fan support for that sport. Firing Wade killed LSU men basketball.
Wade getting fired was on Will Wade. He did not give Scott a choice when NCAA came knocking on the door.

The #2 money maker behind football.
Most, if not all, programs besides football lose money. If basketball is in the green in a year, it's only about 1-3% of what football makes. Football supports the athletic department.

Obviously, you are too young to remember the Chris Jackson, Shaq, Stanley Roberts, etc days. The PMAC would shake the ground it was built upon in those days. Men's basketball lost its fan base when it quit recruiting or attracting excellence in its recruits. The current coach may be a great coach but he lacks the charisma to engage the fans at this point. Of course, winning cures most program ills.
