Ridley was a beast last year. Give him the ball and you knew he was going to get the tough yards. No he didn't have break out run big plays but he was one shoe lace a way from breaking a ton many times. Either way, he WAS our offense at times and he should never be under estimated for that.

anyone can answer:
the most impressive running back that i saw last year at LSU was ___________________

yeah, vs. ranked and opponents with winning records he had a 4.0 YPC and 6 TDs. He wasn't exactly wearing good defenses down.

He was a good back but almost pure north/south. He always saw holes to the outside, would cut to them and always get shoestring tackled.
Ware has way more lateral ability than Ridley ever had. I can tell just in his limited playing time. He may not be a elite speed guy(probably similar speed to Ridley) but he makes up for it in agility/lateral ability. He appears to have really soft hands too. I think he will be a much more athletic Ridley.

missed that part.
Ford had some of the better runs up until Ware blew up on aTm.
I don't know, honestly... Ridley had more opportunities than the others. If Ware or Ford had his carries I think they would've performed better.

how does me asking who Stevan Ridley wore down make me pitiful?

Ware is def more talented and will be a better back, but Ridley was rock solid. He got the tough yards. Hell, he was so dominant on short yard situations that he set up the reverse to Peterson on 4th down against Bama. Give the man credit. He was a very solid back.

Ridely was the best by a long shot until A&M when Ware clearly was healthy and got all the second team reps.
Even then, anyone arguing Stevan Ridely wasn't a beast for us last year is clearly delusional. Guy took on 8 men every play thanks to lackluster quarterback play. He was our offense.

was he the best because he was the only one that got a shot, or because he outplayed the other guys on the field?
draw your own conclusions from this, but the 2 games where our #2 RB got significant carries, they both out played Ridley by a nice margin. Against the same team. Against the same defense. Against the same "8 men fronts". That would be Michael Ford vs McNese and Ware vs ATM.
and to a lesser extent Ford vs Ole Miss and Ware vs McNese.
was it coincidental? you decide.

You've got to move past your anti-Ridley agenda. He's gone. It was pathetic leading up to the draft. Now, it's just embarrassing.

Ridley is/was very underrated by LSU fans. He was a great back.
