i'll remember the SEC championship. we have the trophy

like what? i know he definitely has more big game wins than Saban while he was at LSU

But Miles is the best LSU coach EVER!!

yes. as soon as you take Sabans balls out of your mouth you'll see. He's been gone for 9 years now. Saban doesn't love you anymore

Fact is Alabama embarrassed LSU in the second half of the most recent matchup.
Fact is Nick saban and staff is doing pretty good job coming to Louisiana and getting players they want.

jesus christ....you are fricking obsessed with alabama.

wtf are you talking about? i don't equate my happiness with what bama has or has not accomplished.

it is a shame that your hatred for Miles won't allow you to acknowledge LSUs accomplishments the last 9 years. so sad

Ok, here's what seems to be the issue- Alabama is REALLY FRICKING GOOD right now.

I'm not sure how changing OUR coach is supposed to hurt Saban over there; do the 2 guys share some clause in their contract or something? If Les goes, so does Nick?

Otherwise, it won't matter. Urban Meyer leaving Florida didn't hurt Bama, it only left Florida in shambles. Petrino getting fired didn't hurt Bama, it only left Arkansas in shambles. Swapping out Chizik for Malzahn might help Auburn, but I bet they still get skull-fricked next week. Why? Because Bama's GOOD.

Well, some kids are always going to go to whatever hot team there is. They want to be frontrunners, and they want to win titles. If they like basketball, they probably pull for Duke or Kentucky... or more probably LeBron (not even his actual team, just LBJ). That's how they roll. Others just want to get away from the family and make it on their own.

It doesn't help when so many locals here still seem to bash Miles and worship Saban all the time, you're basically pointing out which coach and team to go play for. Think that's an exaggeration? I was sitting at my son's lacrosse game last fall, and listened to some loud a-hole dads bitch about things. Central, my son's team, was beating the home team, Dutchtown, and a few of these guys were boiling over about it. Amazingly, somehow they all just started ranting about how good Saban was (I don't know, maybe they didn't like their lacrosse coach), and how Miles sucked. Thought a couple of them were gonna stroke out, they were so fired up about it. Red-faced and veins poking out. Other than being a hysterically funny WTF moment, it just highlighted how some people still haven't gotten over the fact that Saban left. Also made me understand how a Dutchtown player might pick Alabama over LSU

Who gives a frick who NS was referring to. You Saban lovers will never get over him leaving you broken hearted. Funny thing is he wouldn't piss on you if you were on fire.

Nick was a good coach here, but he left you nine years ago. Move on, please, he doesn't love you.

Thankfully, Les came in and LSU never missed a beat. Ask Florida how important that is to sustaining your program at a high level.

The previous coach was here at a time when the SEC had 13 teams ranked in the Top 20 and 1 NC.

Miles 1st 5 yrs saw 22 SEC teams in the Top 20 and 4 NC.

It's amusing these comparisons seem to always leave out the fact that Les is dealing with a deeper and overall better SEC that what Nick had to face.

The thing with Miles is his teams are always undisciplined on offense. We shot ourselves in the foot so often. Even in our last game the Offense self destructed in the red zone repeataly. This happens every year. Miles didn't have us ready for Ole Miss this year players dont get the message. He just doesn't work hard enough to win a championship. Being close every year and not being able to finish the deal frustrates the hell out of me. This year we lost 2 games by 6 points that we were out coached in both. While Miles treats this job like a 9 to 5 you know who works a double every day. Miles is being out worked- And if he doesn't start working overtime we will be a cotton bowl team for the remainder of his time here

Time to debunk the penalty myth:

2000 12 games 88 penalties for 766 yards
avg. of 7.33 penalties/game and 63.8 yds/game

2001 13 games 90 penalties for 769 yards
avg. of 6.93 penalties/game and 59.2 yds/game

2002 13 games 92 penalties for 740 yards
avg. of 7.07 penalties/game and 56.9 yds/game

2003 14 games 102 penalties for 845 yards
avg. of 7.29 penalties/game and 60.4 yds/game

2004 12 games 72 penalties for 547 yards
avg. og 6.0 penalties/game and 45.6 yds/game

Yearly avg. 88.8 penalties for 733.4 yards
6.93 penalties/game and 57.2 yds/game

2005 13 games 108 penalties for 907 yards
avg. of 8.31 pen/game and 69.8 yds/game

2006 13 games 83 penalties for 657 yards
avg. of 6.38 pen/game and 50.5 yds/game

2007 14 games 117 penalties for 880 yards
avg. of 8.36 pen/game and 62.9 yds/game

2008 13 games 82 penalties for 649 yards
avg. of 6.3 pen/game and 49.9 yds/game

2009 13 games 86 penalties for 633 yards
avg. of 6.62 pen/game and 48.7 yds/game

2010 13 games 77 penalties for 603 yards
avg. of 5.93 pen/game and 46.4 yds/game

2011 14 games 86 penalties for 686 yards
avg. of 6.14 pen/game and 49.0 yds/game

2012 13 games 94 penalties for 753 yards
avg. of 7.23 pen/game and 57.9 yds/game

2013 11 games 77 penalties for 646 yards
avg. of 7.00 pen/game for 58.7 yds/game

Yearly avg. of 90 penalties for 712.67 yards
6.92 penalties/game and 54.9 yds/game

Over a 14 year period, under 2 different coaches (a strict disciplinarian and a laid back players coach) we have averaged 7.00 penalties per game under each. Guess what we are averaging this year 7.00 penalties per game.

Not much has changed!

I may have mentioned the other guys name a few time but I really don't care about him anymore and haven't in a while.
Do I look at their success with a little bit of penis envy and a tad bit of admiration occasionally??? ......of course! Anyone that says they don't is a fking liar.

I'm more concerned with the knot head who currently runs the program. He's had some great success and won big games. You can argue about HOW he achieved that success all day and in the end it won't matter. He still has a ring.

I'm in the group who didn't want him in the first place.....sorry, just wasn't that impressed with 28-21 out of Okie St. and felt we could have gotten someone with more impressive credentials. It's really hard for me to fathom that even the most ardent SPs were jumping for joy at the hire.....whatever, water under the bridge now. And no I can't name anyone better at the time and I'm not going back to research to see who was available like some of you professors would do. By the way, if we hired someone now with that record most of you would stroke out.

My main concern is in-game frickups. I challenge any pumper to name one coach at a major program that has had more problems in this area than Miles....just one????? Anyone????
This attribute is what ultimately wins or loses games.

Recruiter (10)
Quality guy (9)
Fun to play for (10)
Coaching up talent/using it in game (3)
In-game decisions/adjustments (2)

Les fixes these last two things.....most of the negas would shut up!

What was Jimmy Johnson's record at Okie St before the U hired him? There was more to the hire than the record alone.

Are you really saying that we have been winning at an 80% rate with players that are not being properly coached? So all these kids are just so damned naturally talented that they can win games in the SEC with subpar coaching? :rotflmao:

Please explain how you came to this determination.
