Do you think recruits just magically come to LSU no matter who the coach is. I would think Les might have a little bit to do with our recruiting success or do you believe that is all Saban still?

Gotta tell ya'll I think we need to support our Team no matter what. They are the ones that have to listen to this negatiger crap and then we expect them to go out and kick arse! Get real! If you have ever been on a football team you know how hard it is to win, and having alot of negatigers crying cause we're 5 -0 doesn't help. Have you ever stopped to wonder why, if we are such a joke because of our coach, we are still ranked as high as we are?

therocketscientist, is this you? have aliens taken over your mind? are there two posters on here named rocketscientist? is this a hoax?

i actually pretty much agree with your post with a modification. i think his performance in the big sec games is the pivotal point, not just UF. of course, if he lays eggs here and at auburn, i may think it's over.

Your point is valid. In my opinion, it is how LSU plays in this game that will be important, becuase coming on the heels of more scrutiny than and coach has EVER had (media attention for a college football attention, that is), Miles MUST make some changes. It is this game where we find out the most about the man Les Miles. Will he stay hard-headed, or will he show some humility and pliability in his personnel decisions (QB, mainly) and how he gets his team prepared to play well (need to see much fewer penalties and unpreparedness issues).

Miles will be in the spotlight big time saturday night, so I think this is the point of inflexion for his career, cause if he can have his team make adjustments, look prpared/good, and come out of the Swamp with a win, then all the concern and loss of hope for the remaining "Big 4" games will be lessened, and LSU will retain a chance to win 10 games and finish no worse than 4-4 in conference play.

therocketscientist, you have sold me. how miles responds is pivotal. if there is no improvement in player execution after the uproar that the UT game initiated, it very well could be the sign that it just ain't gonna happen. and one thing i've learned about this site (and life in general actually) is that if you're opinion is different than some, they will attack. looks like you're catching some shite for this thread. kinda like miles is catching shite; can you persevere?

Yes. But I would also think Les would have a little bit (or a lot) to do with appropriate development of same recruits, appropriate offense/defense schemes to utilize said recruits' development, and come up with a team that is reflective of these highly ranked recruits talents and abilities. It always surprises me when people point to the great recruiting, but omit the obvious fact that of these great recruiting classes many within them are not being properly coached, developed, or utilized when they join the team.

Ford Frenzy,

Don't lose your bottom-line perspective. Dude, we're still 5-0, no matter how we got there. Remember what Al Davis said: "Just win, baby." Miles may be an idiot, but he's our idiot, and I don't like the media piling on as they have.

i don't think that is obvious at all. i see enough players that perform so well that that blanket statement doesn't resonate that strongly with me. coaching is a two way street as the player must also be the student. there are other flaws in that generalization; such as our OL attrition, our failure to recruit enough qb's (or certainly the right ones), rp being tossed (therefore not alloweing jl and jj time to develop) and the big one, recruiting class rankings are very misleading. a player's performance in high school against inferior competition is a crap shoot at the next level. yes, overall, a series of highly rated classes producing more outstanding athletes, no question about that. but many of these guys just don't translate in college and many of the lower ranked one's do. yes, the edge is given to the higher ranked one's but not by that much. individuals just can't be pigieonholed regarding future performance with any great degree of accuracy. if that person is a qb, well that's damn important. i agree the most with the utilization part of your post and with the coaching of blocking techniques.

I wasnt a big Les Miles hater before the season and thought he was a good man that made poor decisions, but i still was against him and what he was doing on the field.

i actually like Miles and am grateful for the things hes done for the program, and the skill at EVERY other position is staggering, but to continue to play Jordan, when he clearly CAN NOT do the job, is unforgivable.

i dont know if Lee can play like he did against Tenn every week, but i know jordan has run an offense outside the top 100 for 3 years, and keeping him in guarantees more failure.

and yet there he is. starting. again.

I have no faith in LM to turn anything around or get anything fixed and even less than zero faith in Crowton. Other than Chavis and his team, the LSU coaching staff is the laughing stock of college football. Its embarassing to see LSU ridiculed due to a moron HC day after day. I can't suppport Les any more.

This saturday, Miles has one last chance to show some brains and humility. His comments that both QB's will play "liberally" is why I am giving him this do-over. When the game is over, I hope that he has given me reasons to be his advocate. If he has not, well that will be a HUGE data point in my assessment of him, and we'll talk that if and when that happens.

I personally have found some kind of way to believe him this time.

He hit the ball into the pond on the tee 4 or 5 times last weekend, and i gave him 4-5 mulligans this week in the rears. He has no more mulligans. The mulligan bank is closed for the season.

That's all we can do at this point.

We're not doing the players any favors by not rallying behind the whole team as game day approaches.

I'm as disgusted as anyone with the dysfunction of the offense dating back before this season especially since I don't think it has to be this way but, this is not a bad team. With a good offensive showing in the right games we could definitely win 10 or more. Since no one's going to lose their job during the season anyway, we may as well get behind them and Miles.

trust me, we both hope you're right and I'm wrong. I ran out of ways to trust Miles around Wednesday.

as great as this team is in a hundred different ways, Jordan kills everything, and so far Miles has refused to fix it. I'm glad he's finally doing something, at least he's giving Lee half the snaps, but there's no time left to frick around. it's like having a wife who cheated on you. everything else might be wonderful, but that one thing is enough, that one thing is a perfectly justified reason to go your separate ways.
