I like your Xbox OC analogy, very accurate on that one. I’ll never understand the prerequisites the Rant believes coordinator hires need to have at LSU. We literally just saw what a young, up to date coach from the NFL can do in Joe Brady yet they still pine for retread mid level college DCs like Pelini. They swooned over a guy who hadn’t fielded a competitive defense in over a decade just because they knew his name. Jones comes from the NFL and has worked under Mike Zimmer and Dave Aranda. That’s a great pedigree for a young coach and understanding how to defend NFL passing games is exactly what we need to upgrade this defense.
