I won't boo him. I have no ill will towards Saban, he brought me one of the best moments of my life when I watched us win the NC in '03.
Agreed. I won't boo, and I definitely won't yell any obscenities his way. But, if you aren't a Tiger, you're TigerBait!

A similar arguement was made regarding the return of the Visor a few years back. Some booed, some applauded, all Gator Baited!
caribG8R, I like and respect you, but can you seriously equate SOS leaving Florida to go to the NFL, then ending up at South Carolina with what the WVMD has done in relation to LSU?
Do you think SOS would have been so warmly received had he only stayed 2 years in the NFL, then took the HC job at Tennessee, or UGA, or FSU or Miami(FL)?

No he didn't. You are doing a disservice to Coach Miles & the rest of our Coaches that really coached these players to the 2007 National Championship.

quote:Good point. USCe is not Bammer. However, there were/are a lot of Gator fans bitter about the way Stevie Wonder left and the fact that he went to a school in the SEC east. That being said, had the HBC gone to a real rival his safety would have been in jeopardy upon his return to the Swamp. Boo the hell out of $aban!

It may not be all that classy, but it is LSU football. Tigerbait, tigerbait, tigerbait......
Well, I'm going to be at that game and there's one thing I've never, ever been accused of at an LSU game, and that's being classy.

To completely block out what Saban did before leaving is flat wrong dude. I dont think it belittles LM's accomplishments one bit. Do you think LM would take credit for bringing Saban's recruits to LSU? Yes he coached them and did a great job last year but he did get a pretty full cupboard. How bout 1% of credit?

You said he deserved some credit for the 2007 National Championship. Was Saban Coaching For or Against LSU in Tuscaloosa in 2007?
As for the "Saban's Players" routine, Saban owes his 10 win 2001 SEC Championship Season to Gerry Dinardo by you reasoning, and also some players on the 2003 NC team.
Don't forget to bring your Bama Pom Pom's to the game.

so tell me sammish why do so many refer to a fifth year for a CFB coach saying "now its all HIS players and system"? yes dinardo did recruit some of saban's NC team. its not like it didnt happen? nick didnt go back in some time machine and get the players. He implemented his system but some players were brought in by dinardo. and if you think my points indicate that I'm a bama fan....bro you need to take some aspirin! I'd maintain these arguments no matter the coach or team. DONT CALL ME A BAMMER!! LSU ALUM.

I'll boo Saban just because he's making fellow LSU fans bitch at eachother.
Posted on 7/12/08 at 4:25 am to FanInLA
I think Saban will expect to get booed and that will fire him and his team up. I would rather give him the silent treatment. I think that would get to him more.

I would boo the Pope if he coached Alabama

He is a coach that is intense, and I really doubt anything the fans do will rile him up. He can say what he wants, but I doubt he gives 2 shits about LSU or their fans. He is a man that only cares about himself. Bama will learn this soon.

Would anyone consider not booing when Saban comes to Tiger Stadium in November?
When Nov 8th's Nick-at-Nite happens, he'll be boo'd like there's no tomorrow. It's sad, but despite his success at LSU, it's also justified. The man did great things in Baton Rouge then turned right around and dissed LSU when he arrived in Tuscaloosa.
From his first day at Bama Saban spoke negatively in some way about LSU, Les Miles, or both. His comments were audacious and pervasive. They continued from January to October. Remember for example the "tire-slashing" statement he made to the press about LSU at SEC Media Days. That comment received national exposure. It was wrong yet Saban never retracted it (at least not to my knowledge). Finally after his wife reportedly insisted that he hire a PR person to address his public persona, he suddenly became peaches-and-cream nostalgic about LSU. No more negative stuff. If Nick had come into the Bama job with that attitude, things would be different. People do realize the great things he did for LSU. Unfortunately, the first nine months he spent at Bama berating and belittling LSU, its fans and its coach undid a lot of good will and will remain hard for many LSU supporters to forget. So the boos will come, and Nick, Terri and others will feign confusion as to why.

You guys who are going to show the world the lack of class of some LSU fans should stop and remember the last outright SEC football Championship prior to Saban. Some of you guys weren't even a twinkle in your dad's eye then.

Saban played huge role in LSU's 03 NC and at least a small one in 07's.
Saban (with an assist from Mark Emert) was the best thing to happen to LSU football in the history of the program.

Yeah but I don't think they view Suprrier @ USC as a real threat to them. Put him as the HC of UGA and you might get a different reaction.
