What coach do you want?

This is where the schism in this whole debate happens.

Who said we want a new coach? We just want offensive accountability and better playcalling!

Why do you think it has to be one extreme or the other? Why do some of you think Miles is above criticism?

I love this.

Two years ago, if someone were to suggest that Saban was better than Miles, posters like Rickdaddy would scoff and ridicule. "Saban isn't unbeatable! He makes mistakes! He's human!" they would indignantly proclaim.

Now, those same posters insist that Saban can't be beaten regularly by any coach alive! He's invincible! It's hilarious hypocrisy. Anything so as not to have to view the world realistically and admit a shortcoming in their idol.

Jesus.

Moreover, Rickdaddy misses the very elemental point that whether or nor Saban is better than every coach in America is inapposite, since the vast majority of those coaches reside outside of the SEC West. For the fans of LSU, however, the comparative talent of Miles and Saban is somewhat more pressing, since we have to play Alabama every single fricking year.

So, in closing, Saban is better than Miles, that's conceded. However, in no way, shape, or form do I concede that there is no human being alive who could beat Saban regularly. In any event, this is all speculation. Miles will be the head coach of LSU. Saban will be the head coach of Alabama. All we can do is root for Miles to improve and Saban to decline so that we can ascend to dominance.

But it doesnt. Any one with half a brain would remember we won that game last year and the loser sill played for the bcs title.

IDK and don't care. We scored 9 pts in 8 quarters against the best defense we faced. If you don't think defense and special teams aided our scoring totals you are nuts.

I guess youd rather us lose to bama, not win the sec and not play for a bcs championship.

ALL THREE OF THOSE ACTUALLY HAPPENED THIS SEASON.

I agree. While Miles does make mistakes , some of our "fans" are so spoiled as have no clue about big boy CFB, that they think any coach can win 10-11 games a year , IN THE HARDEST DIVISION, IN THE HARDEST CONFERENCE , in all of CFB. They genuinely believe this. We need a change on offensive staff but this was a great year ,CONSIDERING , that LSU lost 7 starters since the spring game and had a makeshift o line( the most imp group on offense).

19 coaches won 11 or more games this season NINETEEN.

In the SEC...5, FIVE COACHES achieved 11 or more wins.

Thankfully that changes with the four team playoff in 2014. At least you'll have to win your way into the championship game.

That's why I'm willing to take what comes record wise next season as long as there is obvious improvement game to game.

But if all we get is another year of 100 and nothing ranked crap offense, my season ticket dough will be going to one of the round ball sports.

I'm sure you can provide links to the same people saying those things right?

I agree on both counts and Miles has already proven he can beat Saban, he did it twice in 2010 and 2011. Saban got to trump that in no small part because OSU lost a game they shouldn't have.

It's not that it is just Saban. His Asst Coaches are better than others. Hey, his oc is in his first year with Bama. Bama has a better QB, better running backs, better O line, better receivers, better d line, better linebackers and better D backs than LSU and all others.

This mentality is everything that is wrong with our sports culture. Its made everything toxic. Winning a title should be viewed as special, not expected.

Pretty much everyone agrees Saban is the best coach. The rankings by recruiting services show he is getting the best players. The NFL draft shows he has more players drafted. Yet we are pissed off that LSU didn't win it all and think our coach is a bad coach, even though we are 34-6 to Bama's 35-5 the last 3 seasons.

Unless you cross breed Vince Lombardi and Bill Walsh, I don't think most of you will be very happy, ever.

One of the Miles wins vs Saban came in Saban's first rebuilding year at Bama. They went 7-6 and lost to ULM. I throw that win out. The thing that's so frustrating about Miles is he has the potential to be a great coach but he is satisfied with mediocrity at times. Saban would never tolerate prolonged periods of crappy offenses the way Les does. Les can recruit with anybody. He has a good defensive coordinator. All he is missing is an offense that can finish in the top 50 in college football. He just won't address the problem on that side of the ball.

Exactly. But the miles haters say the 2011 LSU offense sucked and every offense under miles has sucked. Except facts say that 4 of the top 5 LSU offenses, EVER , are miles coaches teams

You're stupid. Saban being the best coach does not mean he is unbeatable. Get a clue. We have a top 10 coach. Miles is here for the long haul. DWI boy
