Not to sound rude, but I thought it was pretty obvious that was exactly what happened at the moment.

Our team won on field but we got out coached. No big deal. Miles out coached Saban in T-Town last year. It happens and goes back and fourth but the D scheme at end of half and games needs to change. Its very predictable. other than that Chavis is doing a fine job. Just 3rd and Chavis has to go.

I think Kevin Sumlin is a genius. Love Texas A&M after this weekend.

actually, IIRC, it was said during the A&M - Bama game that Barrett Jones made the call to run screen on that last play.

First off let me start by saying in no means am I a Saban fan.
I don't understand why you have to preface the comments.

This has been known in football circles for year. The Rant is not a credible, objective place to get your facts. That's like saying you are going to listen to Fox News to get a credible, objective reliable opinion on President Obama.

Saban knew this and exploited it to the max.

He pretty much said so in an interview. Said he sat down with AJ on Friday and they know how LSU would play against the two minute offense base on previous games.

First off, you beat an aggressive defense by using screens.

Second, Mills (I think) missed his assignment, Yates, and went for the QB.

Third, did you even seen the last Bama series vs TxAM?

First down and goal on the six with 4 minutes left, the BEST OL in the country, and two good RBs. What does Saban do?

Run once and pass three times, the last being an INT.

Genius...

He is a damn good football coach. He makes mistakes...plenty of them during his career. Some people believe Saban walks on water. He does not. While Miles gets hammered on his calls by just about everyone(fan base, national media, your grandmother, etc.), Saban gets largely a free pass on crappy decisions like this.

Don't forget the brilliance last year against us: Richardson got loose for his biggest gain of the night, had us on our heels a little and has a WR throw a pass (which Reid int'd).

Great theory but I believe it was a blown assignment on the cornerbacks part. He wasn't supposed to be blitzing. Only faking a blitz. Go Aggies

SDSU is where I'm studying. I didn't see the interview with Saban that all of you mentioned. This was just what I noticed. And you do realize one corner can't stop a screen considering he has five lead blockers at that point.

Looks like your genius, for the second year in a row, is going to have to beg for a second chance to prove to everyone that he is, in fact, a genius.

I think you are right. Unless Saban didn't have the atheletes to defense JFF like Chavis showed him how to do it, Saban made a huge mistake not containing him. LSU gave up 27 yds to JFF and Saban gave up 92.Huge differnce in the scheme of things.
I agree with you on the 1st and goal on the 6. I would have ponded that ball five downs if they gave em to me.

Saban is an average coach who recruits lots of NFL caliber players. Has never won because of coaching and that is why he left Michigan State, he couldn't recruit vs Michigan to have talent advantage.

I don't know the validity of the last statement, but your response sounds deceivingly convincing.
If he's average then what does that make Mack Brown, Dabo Swinney, Urban Meyer, Mark Richt, and Lane Kiffin? What's been wrong with Florida State, Miami, Michigan recruiting? Why is it that many other programs completely fall off after a bad loss or a national championship appearance, but Saban and Miles just keep going back for more?

This is what always kills me. Saban is a great defensive coach. He is a great Head Coach because he knows this and leaves the offense pretty much alone. I am sure he is involved in schemes, game plans etc.. but he does not call the offensive plays.

False. But maybe you haven't studied this yet.
