I'm not a big boo-er...but I personally will never be comfortable honoring a former BAMA head coach in Tiger Stadium. Had Nick wanted life long adulation from Tiger fans, than keeping his tiny arse off the sidelines of an SEC rival was step number one.

He'll be booed by the Bama faithful before too long.

seriously what would have to happen?
He returns to Tiger Stadium having just gotten Bama the death penalty and while dying of the untreated case of syphilis that he contracted when he was molested by Bear Bryant.

This is great. Sabanmania. I'll give you the Bama slant. First, it was talked about as early as summer 2005 that Nick was our next target, That's the truth. Mikie was a pitiful 10-15 at Bama. Not good at any school but a school with a football tradition like ours was not going to let him stay 6 or 7 years to "build" it. Now he has sanctions, etc but he wouldnt have won anyhow. Mikie then went 10-0 to start the 05 season. The second we lost to LSU in OT Sabans name started being bantered around, seriously that night, because Shula couldn't close games and lost to a team we should've beat. Then we were smoked by AU the next week to finish a crappy 10-2 BUT showed a little promise. 06 totally sucked and by mid-season Sabans name was all over Alabama as we recognized him as the best college coach out there and won a NC at a place that hadn't won much at all consistently. After losing to Miss State, that day, it was a full court press for the best college coach and his name was Nick Saban. Nick didnt want to the job. Then wanted to wait until after the season to talk. We decided to go ahead with RichRod. Rod then did an about face, what a break that was. It then became apparent that talks with Saban were serious.
Bottom line, Bama was ready to win again. Win again big time. We dont feel like, in football, we should conceed anything just because. Similar to LSU in baseball. You almost feel a NC is expected. Thats Bama football. NC's are a way of life.
Nothing wrong with that.
As far as LSU goes. Never was a single conversation, thought, word or written article done on what the LSU fans would think. It didnt become apparent to us until Nick was hired that this was going to be a meltdown of epic proportions. Maybe to never be seen again. With that though, we never and would never consider asking anyone what they thought about our football hire. THats our business as is your baseball coach. Remember, where did you get DiNardo from?
I know for a fact after Smoke a full court press was put on Jim Wells. Are those any different? No, they arent. Bama was a problem for LSU long before Saban. Will be after Saban. We paid alot for Saban, yes, we are also expecting a lot from Saban.
As far as what happens there with a salute to Nick I couldnt care less. We want to win at Bama. Nick is the guy to get it done. He's the best coach in college football.
As far as suspending players, and slapping wrists. I'll remind you that we were 6-2 in 07 before bookgate and we suspended multiple starters and didnt win again. Including to Monroe. Also we suspended starters before the Sugar Bowl last year. It cost us big time. They deserved it though. I dont think, no I know, we dont go any lighter that anyone else on players and discipline. Anybody that looks at it OBJECTIVELY will see that, if not, well believe what you will.

Saban got a huge salute when he came back to LSU as the Dolphins coach. I was in the 3/4 empty Tiger stadium to watch the Saint and Fins play.

Who gives a shite?
You'll see him down there every other year and you'll be hoping that things turn out better than last time.

I will never boo Nick Saban. He coached LSU to a national championship and for that alone, I'll always be grateful. As far as going to Alabama, he did what was in HIS best interest. I cannot think of any individual who doesn't put what is best for him (her) first and foremost. I will never boo or downgrade the individual who put LSU back on the map after the Hallman, Dinardo, etc. years. Money talks and Saban ran to where the money was as well as returning to something that he enjoyed doing. You are lying to yourself if you say you wouldn't do the same thing. BTW, the last time I checked, Alabama is not a hated rival of LSU. Sorry guys but Bama's rivals are Auburn and Tennessee. Bama just views LSU as a good game to watch. LSU is on the same level as Ole Miss, State, and Vandy. FYI, I bet that you didn't know that the SEC school that is the closest to the University of Alabama is Mississippi State. Are they heated rivals? I don't think so. Why fault a man who goes to where the money is and returns LSU to greatness?

1) Rich Rod fails at Michigan
2) Les finally takes his dream job
3) Saban realizes he's in myopic hell and the Bear lovers drive him insane
4) Saban comes back to LSU
5) LSU Nation forgives, and denies ever hating him.
This is either the most brilliant post ever....or it's the fricking dumbest ever.
