Technically, this statement is true. No mater how strong the chain is, there is always a weakest link.

What any of the other zombies on the show could have readily pointed out is that each of their 3 scores in the second half took at least 5 minutes off of the clock, and that in the meantime LSU was putting up another 2 touchdowns, taking another 8 minutes off. But that would have underscored how clueless the writers are who gave Leaf his script.

I've never seen so much Ryan Leaf in my life. The National Championship comes around, and he's on EVERY fricking college football live. He is terrible. Give me Greg McElroy or Jesse Palmer. They actually know their shite.

I mean, the LSU defense does have a tendency to come out in the 2nd half much more lax than the first half.

The only time it mattered though was against Alabama. Other than that, our offense has done enough that the defense giving up a few scores didn't matter.

I don't ever have a problem with who an analyst picks as long as he can back it up with a rational basis.

The "LSU's defense is no good" narrative is lazy. No doubt for much of the season they were giving up far more points/yards than we were used to seeing. The pinnacle of the poor play was the 2nd half vs. Ole Miss. Since that game the LSU defense has suffocated opponents.

It was 56-6 with under 9:00 minutes to go before Ark got two late garbage TD's

It was 34-0 with under 8:00 to go in the third before A&M scored their first, and only points of that game.

It was 34-3 in the 4th quarter before UGA got its first and only TD. The only other game where UGA only scored 1 TD was vs. A&M in a driving rainstorm.

LSU held OU to its lowest point total all season (tied with TCU). And 14 of those points came AFTER LSU was up 56-14 late in the 3rd.

Leaf is obviously their “Clemson guy” this postseason. Won’t stop talking about them.

Ryan Leaf looks like a bloated alcoholic. As a football analyst, if you had the worst NFL career out of the people on the show and Dan Orlovsky is on the set, you need a new gig.

If Ryan Leaf could read a defense he could have had a real NFL career
