I am convinced he could be a Taylor Martinez, Shoelace Robinson-type player.
Those are 2 completely different QBs.

Oh No! What a devastating blow to our high powered passing attack!

Why would someone leave to be a 4th round draft pick?
Considering the minimum salary in the NFL is over 350K a year, why not? More than 99.9% of the people on this board will make in 2-5 years of work

Lots of kids don't like going to school, but you're there to learn. If you don't have a future as an Nfl Qb, you better find another position in college. Every high school team in America worth the unis they wear has their best athletes at QB and RB. But it doesn't mean you're worth a shot as either against good comp. He's locked in to receiver now, like it or not, and without a year proving he can actually catch a ball with someone on him, which he hasn't done yet, no NFL team s going to look at him. Believe dat.

I wish him well.
I think he gets drafted in the late rounds or is signed as a UFA.
He goes down too easily and, like Roberto Duran, he has hands of stone.
He's the last guy I wanted to see us throw to in a clutch situation.
He's a great athlete, so maybe eventually there's a place for him in the NFL. I doubt he makes an impact there, but who knows?
His college career was a disappointment.
And contrary to popular opinion on this thread, most of that is the fault of RS himself.

I guess I've watched a different RS the last few years .. I don't see the big deal with him leaving ...
Posted on 1/11/12 at 5:14 pm to TigahRag
The big deal is we love him, not that he was great, yet.

That would be the biggest mistake in his life i know he is pissed off but he has a passing qb coming in next year and is not near good enough to go to the nfl YET.

Posted on 1/11/12 at 5:15 pm to white beans
What position is he entering the draft at, RB, receiver, QB, or Undrafted Free Agent?
Posted on 1/11/12 at 5:15 pm to white beans
Does he have twins of tripletts on the way or something? Has to make some money asap?
Posted on 1/11/12 at 5:16 pm to jellyfish
I can see him being a DeSean Jackson-type player in the NFL, maybe not right off the bat, but he has the ability.
Posted on 1/11/12 at 5:17 pm to TigahRag
The big deal is he was phenomenal. Then got to LSU, wasn't given a chance to compete for his natural position even though it was promised he would. And the rest is history.
Worst choice ever made by coming to LSU.

He should get his degree and transfer to Oregon and play QB.

He needs to learn how to catch a punt between now and the draft if he plans on leaving.

I loved when passes hit him in the feet. Those were great.

He would look good between D Henderson & D Sproles on the Saints.
Marcus Colston's contract is up this year and Brees is probably getting the Franchise tag, which means that Coach Payton will be looking for the late round or undrafted talents to fill in the missing spot.
I would LOVE for Shep to be a Saint!

Worst decision ever? What a waste. And to think I was worried about him committing to LSU at one point.
Don't blame him. Blame the coaches for ruining RS career.
