yeah Im sure the Jordan-haters will love this, and it was not a good throw, but keep in mind that he and Shep were both rolling right, its a tough catch no matter what, and maybe not a call I would have made for Jordans first throw of the year, on the first drive of the year, on a 3rd and 2 on the 20 yard line.

and that angle isn't fair to Jordan either. there were defenders in his way that this doesn't show.

2 TDs on 7 touches = Keiland vs VT in 2007. Look for Ridley to now get 25 carries a game to keep Shep away from the ball. Miles hates people who make big plays and show up his Big Ten up the middle RBs.

This

Sadly

If miles were smart he'd make sure shep was in every fricking series as a WR/PR/RB/KR

Get the ball in his hands as many times as possible.

But he won't

Miles already said "running it up the middle is lsu football"

Miles won't change. He's stubborn.
And it'll cost him his job.

not so sure if its fair to blame Shep for that 3rd down drop.

If the ball hits you in the hands, you have to catch it.

Period.

yea and everyone knows that means 4TD's with 14 touches and 6TD's with 21 touches, etc, etc. first of all and the most important is ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL THE GUY? hell, he's pretty damn small. secondly, we need a diverse offense to win, that simple.

Keep in mind. You will never see the complete offense in the first game of the season. They will roll more and more out for the next few games and I personally think it is going to be vastly better than the past two years.

Just a gut feeling but, LSU blows the doors off of Vandy this weekend.

Usually I would agree with this. Not this time. However, it seems like Les thinks he can open up the offense in the first half and shut it down in the second half and nobody would notice.

Get outta here with this BS...No one is suggesting he would score in the same ratio if he touched the ball more often. If anything, Shep has proven he can take a lick and get up pretty quick from it, as evidenced from the shot he took when JJ threw the slant too late, and the Vandy and UGA games last year.

What's more telling to me is that Shep scored 2 times on 5 touches in the first half, and Miles only managed to get him 2 more touches in the 2nd half. That's just shutting down the offense and getting ultra conservative.

has the coaching staff ever done any wrong in your eyes, Peepaw?

Bottom line is Shepard is like McLuster was for ole miss. he can literally break any given play against any team to the house. You have to give him the ball more than 7 times ( I know there were at least 2-3 other passes intended for him).

You increase the possibility for TDs when you continue to put the ball in his hands. It sucks the defense toward him and opens up things for the other playmakers.

They need to ride the Shep train 20 times a game.

PeePaw here. yes, the coaching staff has done some things wrong in my opinion. what we really need is more touches for the offense, period. and while i agree that shep should be a major part of it, there are others that should also. against nc, we scored TOO FAST and we turned the ball over and nc got hot at the end. those things combined to severly limit our touches overall. and while i agree shep was underutilized in the second half, we did cost ourselves 2 td's which completely changed the complexion of the game. my sarcastic remark was just a response to the multitude of posts which seem to want shep to be OUR OFFENSE and i do not agree with that.

It is sad how soft this program and fan base have become.

Unfortunately, that seems to be the only way we can score now. Our offense has not shown the ability to sustain a drive.

Every time they picked up steam the ball was fumbled.
