I just hope he's been studying Crowton's giant playbook. I know they've been in discussion this season about formations, plays, etc.

Get to work, Russ!

Does shepard really wear a size 16 shoe?

Guys, not to take anything away from his football abilities, but just read this.....

quote:

As a sophomore, Shepard was one of several players attending the funeral of Cypress Ridge assistant coach Zack Quinlan's father, Mark, a sales representative for the athletic equipment giant Riddell.

When the emcee at the wake asked if anyone wanted to eulogize, no one moved and a long silence ensued. Then Shepard got up and walked from the back of the room to the podium.

Despite having never met the deceased, Shepard spoke of how good a man he must have been to have raised a son like Zack Quinlan, and how much it must hurt for him to lose his father.

He looked at the family and said, "Coach, I know you're all hurting. We got your back."

With tears flowing, several others then took the cue from Shepard and spoke.

"I remember when he was walking up thinking, 'Russell, what are you doing?' " Thiebaud said. "But it showed his natural leadership ability. There were several executives from Riddell there, and still it took a 16-year-old who never knew the man to get them started."

That is awesome

I sure wish we hadn't recruited Vince Young as a WR. I wish we had a coach who was a better evaluator of OFFENSIVE talent at that point. Hopefully RR is thinking of this as well.

he's our Tebow.... just savor the time this young man is on campus, b/c there will never be a young man that plays for LSU that will have the same character, talent, and intelligence that he seems to have.

I agree that this says more about him than anything he could ever do on the football field. He will be a winner in what ever he chooses to do in life. I like to pull for kids like this to be successful.

I think we will have him for four years. He is the type of person that has his perspectives in order and would want to help this university win another championship if they haven't accomplished it before his senior year. He has showed us so far he will do everything it takes to keep LSU a national power.

Wow. Sounds like a great kid. I would pull for him even if he wasn't a Tiger...but I'm glad that he is.

i agree, that's why I don't understand why Tebow did not get the same respect from so many Tiger fans. Why on earth did we treat him the way we did. I regret that he didn't get the respect he desrved when he came to tiger stadium. I mean, wouldn't we have loved to have him on our team? Wasn't it just sour grapes?

I met the kid a few time this season; my tickets are just next to where recruits and their families sit. He as such a great kid to talk to; I thought he was must maybe on his good behavior while on visits, but apparently this is this is his everyday character. Kid's like this can do nothing but improve your entire program. Welcome to BR, Shep!

WOW!! Are we sure he is only a teenager? Great maturity!!

Before the season, a good friend of mine introduced me to Cypress Ridge Coach Gary Thiebaud. I did get to see Shep play 4 times this year. This kid will do great at LSU. Look for the Wiz to fit him in next year.
