Did not see much of Berry and Durham. What you guys think on them not seeing much playing time. I was very surprised

I think Lane wanted to make a big statement and put all of cfb on notice and Jones was the best RB option to do that. I'm sure we will see more of Durham and Berry down the road.

I'm all for playing the hot hand, which is what we have failed to do in the past. But I was a bit surprised that with a 31-3 halftime lead that Berry and Durham didn't get an opportunity early in the second half. I saw lots of people commenting after the game about those two not looking good, but it didn't seem like anyone stopped to think about the fact that they had to play behind backup linemen in the 4th quarter. They didn't exactly have anywhere to run.
I don't know what we're going to get out of Durham this year, but Berry is undeniably the most explosive player we have in the backfield. He is not a bruiser, we know that. And he might not block up to standards. I get that. So I understand why he's behind Jones. But give that dude the ball and a little space and watch him go. So seeing him 4th on the depth chart is puzzling.

Kiffin typically doesn't use RB by committee. Not to say other RBs get no snaps, just generally he has a bell cow RB because they go fast and don't want to give the defense opportunities to sub. That's going to be Jones barring injury, so get used to it.

Blocking/pass protection/ playbook, Durham however is clearly 4th back and will not get many looks unless blow outs or injuries.

Ok agree with all of the above but it will be interesting to see if one or both hit the road after the season with the NIL and portal

I'm sure there are going to plenty of carries for everyone. This was a statement game and Lane thought that Dilin Jones gave him the best chance to make that statement. Hard to argue with the results.
It's hard for me to even really have a feel for what Durham and Berry are at this point. No RB was going look great under BK. That scheme was so broken. RBS getting blown up in the backfield, Gotta make a few guys miss to get 4 yards. Durham and Berry aren't great tackle breakers so that didn't help.
Or maybe Durham and/or Berry aren't as good as people thought they'd be. I'm still waiting for the light to come on for John Emery!

Well that is why Kiffin's staff has character metrics when building rosters. And, hey, one or both of them very well may leave. You can't let that scare you into changing your plan though. This staff has a plan for the program, you're with it or you're not. Wish you the best if you choose to go elsewhere.
I will say this though, Jones was not on the roster last year and he's the feature back this year. Berry and Durham had the opportunity to leave this past offseason if they wanted, after all their RB Coach Frank Wilson was replaced along with taking in a transfer RB that took the #1 spot on the roster. They stayed. That says something to me. You don't know what's going through their heads, and I think they may appreciate the coaching they're currently getting as far as the development of their skills. Jones will not be here next year and they'll both have the chance to be RB1. They're also just one injury away from being possibly the next guy at any given moment.
