I missed one of the times but the two I heard were 4.42 and 4.38.

MD said he ran a 4.42, then ran a sub-4.4's twice. He also said RR will be one of 3 LSU players taken in the first round.

Was dumb, but he's gone so lets move on.

Why? How much higher is he going to go next year? Is he going to grow? Get faster? What do you see changing for him next year that makes leaving now a "dumb"decision, according to you?

Rueban will be a top 20 pick in the draft. Great decision to come out early.

Not so sure about that. ESPN radio a few days ago had a draft analyst on and was talking about the top 5 receivers, and RR was not mentioned.

No doubt he suffered under JJ's presence under center late in the year. He's paid his dues to LSU and while I think he'd probably have bettered his draft stock - but I think he was worried about injury too.

I do hope that he knocks them dead at the combine and moves up some in the experts minds. I'll be hoping he's still there when the Saints pick, esp if Colston is gone.

Impossible to say where he will go until his combine/pro day stuff. No matter where he goes, he will be a solid contributor. For whatever reasons, he decided to take the risk of jumping to the NFL this year rather than pursue his final year at LSU. Some guys may not enjoy the college game as much as others.

Bottom Line

All LSU fans should praise the guy for choosing to come to LSU. He could have easily gone to gumpland.

I for one am thank for his contribution to LSU and hope he does spectacular in the NFL. Either way he is, in my mind at least, Louisiana Royalty.

I wonder if his decision would've been different if Lee had remained the starter and we won the NC and he had contributed more in the game or the decision was leaving early no matter the outcome of Jan. 9th?

I thought he mentioned 4.38 as well? I could be wrong... Either way they are good times and I think he is right.

Lance Zierlien- radio show host in Houston, has the texans taking him in the first round in his mock draft. Lance is a fairly knowledgeable guy and is pretty well connected in the NFL.

RR2 was going to declare for the draft reguardless of the NCG or UGA game, or the 2013 season. It was pretty much a forgone conclusion that he came into LSU witht he intent to declare after his Jr. year. He is good enough to be a high draft pick and there is no reason for him to come back this year. He will rate somewhere in the top 5 WRs in the draft.....next year he would rate the same. He is getting projected to be anywhere from late first to mid third round.

yep he gone either way.
but really talk about talent that was underutilized. sure he got tired of running routes when he knew he was never going to get a shot at catching ball either a. cause LM rather run it, or b. JJ couldn't possibly get it close enough for him to catch it. Oh well always next season, hope springs eternal.

I know right? Cause 13-1 is horrible coaching.

The only one on that list that I would draft ahead of RR is Blackmon. Hopefully Rueben will fly under the radar and get a shot to be a Saint. And thanks for being a Tiger RR.

Why?

Because he could have been a top wr in next years draft. The only hope he has this year is the combine. JJ screwed him if JL continues to be the starter I think RR would have been a first rounder this year.

I do think RR will be a steal and you never know the Patriots need a big wr bad so they may pick him up late in the first or second.

I'll debate it. I would take RR2 over Floyd. It's really a toss up. They are both the same size, their 40 times are similar (some sites say randle is sub 4.4, I have seen Floyd's lowest at mid 4.4s), but I watched RR2 succeed in a system that was not designed to pass very well, going against defenses taht were a fair bit tougher than what ND played against.

It will come down to the combine to separate the top 5-6 WRs. All except Wright(Baylor) are 6'1-6'4 and almost all run within 0.1sec of each other. The 40 times are goin to be a separation point for this group aside from Blackmon, who will be the top WR taken.
