Rudy Macklin's Take On The Situation

Taken from Facebook
I agree with him in the sense that its just sad to me how many so called "fans" really wanted to see Jefferson fail so hard...even though most of them were the same ones yelling at Les to put him into the game in 2008 when Lee was struggling. Pathetic.

There is no such thing as a man code! In street fights a lot of people get kicked or stomped. Jefferson went to help his team mates point blank! How many bar fights take place in the course of an LSU school season? Plenty! And back in my day, several athletes got into fights, well-known athletes, including myself and no of them or me received this kind of punishment Jefferson is going through. Some people did not want to see him at QB for LSU and now he pays a price for something that many students do on a regular basis at bars all around campus. Where does the hatred come from? God, I wished they would have walked away.

Who care about a man code in a fight. The adrenaline is pumping and anger is in your mind, and you going to stop and say: "Oh I must think about the man code?" I don't think so! That is the risk you take for street fighting. If you start a street fight, like these guys did against the players, then you must expect the unexpected or don't start a fight at all! I know on good authority that these so-called victims started the fight but couldn't finish it. Just take your butt-whippin' and go home!

I agree also, and the backup quarterback is always the most popular player and better then the starter with fans it seems lately. With that said i am in full support of Lee and this team! He has shown shines of greatness as well as coming up short..here is his chance. I believe he is capable as long as he doesnt let his mind get the better of him. If he can just take care of the ball and get it to the skill players then the sky is the limit for this team. I sure wish Shep wasn't suspended though. I was hoping for a break out year for him.

Social media and other cultural changes make it impossible to go back to that era.

Agreed.......this whole situation has been blown way out of proportion. Sometimes I wish the law would use a little common sense. The 4 jackasses got what was coming to them, next time maybe they won't write a check with their mouths their arse can't cash. I remember seeing turds like this all over Tigerland when I was at LSU, all it takes is one good arse whipping and they learn their lesson.
Sad these little pricks had to get the law involved....

What i sad is the law going and searching jj's appartment over a bar fight...seizing his shoes as evidence, all 49,over a bar fight, testing him for DNA or whatever they did over a freakin bar fight!! I'm all for the police doing their jobs and punishing people who have done a crime, but if this fight was just abunch of regular joes ,no one thats in the media often, then i don't see the BRPD investigating it to the extreme of this. Anyway, im glad its over with and

The back up qb has been popular for a ling time now. Started wit booty. Even when flynn was starting people wanted RP.

I remember seeing Eric Andolsek practically passed out and bloodied after a huge brawl with dozens of participants, when he was in his 3rd year at LSU. This was at the Colonel's Retreat in Thibodaux, and well before the age of twitter, cell phones, and cell phones with cameras. NOTHING CAME OF THE FIGHT and you never even heard a whisper of it at LSU.
Players - college age kids get in fights - bottom line. I'm not condoning what Jefferson is alleged to have done, but Macklin makes a good relative point here. Today's athletes are subjected far more to the microscope from those from days gone by. Even Billy Cannon got into a few fights few know about, that never saw the light of day in the Advocate.

Love Rudy, but some of that shite is just stupid. "Man Code"? WTF?
There is a difference between fighting back and kicking a guy that is down multiple times. I am tired of people trying to defend and excuse utterly pathetic behavior. Sad that a former Tiger is trying to turn this into people using this to get the QB they want in the game. Pathetic Rudy. Just pathetic.

Before jumping to conclusions, and basing everything on what one possibly drunk little co-ed has to say, it might be better to reserve judgement till all the facts come to light.

What a lot of you, and apparently Rudy Macklin, are failing to realize is this went from an ordinary bar fight to one that allegedly involves a felony taking place. Sure, there is no "man code" on the street, but the law is the law. Unless the person you're fighting is in possession of a weapon and you can reasonably determine you will suffer severe bodily harm or death, you can't take it as far as kicking someone in the head. The shoe on your foot can be interpreted as a weapon if you use it in that manner. Whether you started it or not is irrelevant at that point in time. Most of the statements I read on here every day show no knowledge of this, and it's laughable.
The whole "heat of the moment" part of it is the difference between a second degree (not premeditate) and a first degree charge (premeditated), so that scenario or idea most of you are spouting gets crossed out by the law as well.
Comparing this event to other events that have taken place in the past is irrelevant as well. You've all seen the video. Do you honestly think that any of the witnesses that implicated those involved weren't able to identify what type of clothing the people had on at the time. Unless Stevie Wonder or the guy passed out on the sidewalk from drinking too much inside the bar that night are witnesses, most people will remember what you were wearing that night. If it's a football player that is very easily recognized, it's not going to very hard for anyone to recall his clothing.
Someone broke the law that night. Those people have been arrested, and those people will have their day in court. There are no "street rules" in this matter. There is the law, and the law will be enforced whether you like it or not. This isn't the f***ing principal's office any longer, kids!

I endorse his message. JJ got railroaded. It's really pathetic how in an effort to not look like fools, the BRPD put the cart before the horse and most assuredly look like the fools they so desperately were trying to avoid. DNA for a bar fight? DNA for a 2nd Degree Battery charge?
Unprecedented until now. Let's see is they will continue this overzealous investigative spirit with every 2nd Degree Battery charge for here on.

Ummm.. there is video of the incident. Whoever the players involved in kicking a man on the ground are pathetic. You don't need more than that.
I love LSU, but the extent of the players' actions was inexcusable and pathetic.

Ah, Dandy Don's nutsucker returns. Sorry that you find kicking a person multiple times while they are in the fetal position justified.

They can have it, just like I have mine. I make my point, they make theirs. Pretty simple. If you can't handle debate, then get the frick out.

The difference here is you have guys wanting to file charges.
Makes it a whole different ball game.
