Given that they evaluated him, I assume they knew before signing day that he would never play QB for LSU b/c he was physically incapable.
He was given a shot. I don't know what needs to be said for people like you to understand that HE DID NOT THINK THAT PLAYING QB WAS HIS BEST OPTION AFTER HE GOT ON CAMPUS AND STARTED WORKING OUT WITH THE QB'S. IT WAS HIS DECISION TO CHANGE POSITIONS!

I'm sure what he has to say isn't about him not playing QB

I would certainly like to hear what he has to say but he could b throwing miles under the bus just as JJ did to try to gain a better footing in the combine. It could backfire on him, it did for JJ i think.
but seriously, those who know their ball, come on, Shep was given more chances by Miles than almost any other coach would have. He dropped more than half of his passes and we had better talent than him that we eventually had to put above him. It wouldnt be fair to the others.
But I do think we should have used him in the sweep more often but it doesnt pound n tire and eat the clock like ball control rushing offense is supposed to do.
plus shep was a string bean and would fumble easily. hand strength seemed to be an issue with him ala Trindon. He would have almost never seen the field if satan was the coach. there is a competition for playing time in practice and LSU is loaded with better guys.

Riding JJ into the ground, not giving Lee a chance on 1/9, not giving the most talented the most playing time, sticking his dirty hands into the offense...I'm positive whatever Shep has to say wouldn't be just about himself, people forget how passionate Shep was about LSU and how he recruited his arse off to get fellow talent over here

I feel like a broken record when ever this comes up, but Shep was best used as runner out of the backfield. He had several explosive plays, esp as a freshman, but his carries declined every year from there, as they forced him to be a traditional WR. Was he good at that? No, not really.
Carries per year:
FR: 45, 6.2 YPC
SOPH: 32, 7.1 YPC
JR: 7, 7..4 YPC
SR: 20, 8.1 YPC
JC Copeland got more carries than Shep this year. Shep will leave LSU with 104 career carries, for 6.9 YPC. Yes, nearly 7 fricking yards every time he touches the ball. That is a goddamn travesty. He should carry the ball 50-75 times per year. Would have been a great wrinkle for the offense.
I dont know how people can say "oh i just didnt see why he was so highly rated"... Honestly, what are you watching? Kid made many explosive plays lining up in the backfield or coming in motion.

Yeah, I didn't mean to imply that it did. I'm just tired of hearing from the people that think he got screwed out of being a QB. I'm not a fan of Miles but that wasn't on him.

I agree. Maybe he didn't want to play that role and thought he had a better chance at WR? We'll have to wait until the book comes out.

Just a curve ball!! Did it ever occur to you guys he was addressing the nega tigers of the world that come up with all these theories about how horrible CLM is. Mabe it will
I have a feeling that won't be the case for a player that wasn't allowed to play in a Bowl Game his Senior year.

very true, but i would think it probly had to do with the fact that he probly kept fumbling in practice as a runner. and miles is smart enough to see turnovers as the pure kryptonite that they are. but i could be wrong, shep could have some insight that we all do not know of. sucky situation either way.

Do people forget that everybody was screaming for JLee to write a tell-all book after what happened down the stretch of the season and into the NC?

The truth is he tried to buy my boys hat from him to cheat on an exam.

I hate our offense so damn much

I will say this, the players, in the modern era, are probably having to sign a confidentiality agreement to be a major program NCAA player. Actually, if anyone knows this or not, please chime in.
It would explain a lot as to why these books arent written very much or at all by previous players. I would guess they do this. When tens to hundreds of millions are at stake, these kinds of things tend to happen.
