I like Canada’s offense. The notion that he wasn’t allowed to run his offense is ridiculous. Outside of 1 half we saw Canada’s offense all year. He did th best he could with what we had
The whole team wasn't playing well at that point in the year even Aranda's D was having trouble.
sounds like Canada is a dick to work with. is it on O for hiring a dick with a history of being dick? sure. but letting him go doesn't mean LSU football is in a nose dive.

There's an article floating around that NFL coaches incorporate some of Canada's offensive principles into their systems.
But Orgeron, because he's adept at running bag drills with fat boys, thought he needed to alter it, because he's the head coach and they'll do what he wants. Fricking egomaniac.

True and it says a lot about O and Alleva if hiring O was anyway predicated on getting Kiffin.

Show me this documentation. The first fricking play vs BYU the whole OL went in motion. We ran 6 jet sweeps in the game. Do you think O was calling those plays??
It’s funny when people read something enough on a message board how it becomes the truth.
What actually happened is O didn’t like the struggles in the Syracuse game, and went into the Troy game trying to change things. He also did this because of injury. Tried to simplify things. This is from Dellenger

keep your head in the sand. Canada might be a dick, but O started meddling and look at the result.

True, letting Canada go doesn't mean LSU is in a nose dive. But hiring Ed Orgeron sure does.

O hired him to run an offense and then wouldn't let him run his fricking offense.
Of course it didn't work out.
Sounds really familiar.

LImiting the pre snap stuff is not changing the offense. And probably saved us a loss or 2.

He did what Alleva did, except Canada was qualified. It's kind of funny when you think about it.

Oh cool, another O-negative thread.

It's on it's way if O can't get out of the way. LSU finally had a young innovative offensive mind and O couldn't keep his emotions in check long enough to see how it played out. Now he wants to go back years for and offensive philosophy? He is going to really look bad starting Monday when his offense - Canada sputters around and ND pushed the defense all over the field in the second half.

could he have "thrown" the first half from a play calling perspective to prove a point?

Jeez- people haven't figured this out yet ?
Alleva made the call on Canada
Why else would he turn 3 games in and then talk about another style of offense? Again this is from the jump ...you don't do this if O hired the guy
This isn't that hard

It must be nice to be O. Quite literally NOTHING that happens with the program is ever his fault.

Its well documented that O basically didn't let him run it until after the Troy debacle when Alleva stepped in.
We saw Canadas offense early in the season. The only outlier was Troy and the defense melted down in that game and LSU lost 4 turnovers. Troy controlled both lines of scrimmage and had a guy run for 190 yards.
Youll lose most games with 4 turnovers and allowing them to run all over you.
Lsus running game sucked. No guice and the Wrs werent able to break open the jet sweep whicj was run a half dozen times.
Lsu lost being unprepared and overpowered.

Under Reid, Smith has flourished, never more than this season. Reid has devised a scheme reliant on several concepts more familiar to the college game, many borrowed from former Pittsburgh Panthers offensive coordinator Matt Canada. Plays are heavy on shifts, intricate bunch formations and misdirection.

And there's plenty of articles about Reid gushing over Canada,

Yeah well usually that's because your boss is more qualified than you in some respect. Orgeron is not more qualified than Canada, in any respect.
