Passed away of a heart attack at 49.
Seamster held many records at Minden High. Seamster is career leader in following categories: Rushing yards (5003), Yards per game (141.7) and rushing TDs (61).
He holds the Tide’s single game touchdown record with five, which he did twice in 1985 against Northwood and Mansfield. (tied with Raymond Tate and Jerry Frazier).
His Minden single season records include rushing yards (2402 in 1986), carries (310 in ’86) and touchdowns (28 in ’86).
Unfortunately he was moved to Fullback by Curly Hallman once he became coach and Sammy never lived up to his potential.

RIP. Way too young. He was fun to watch.

That is sad news.
Seamster was a very talented player who likely could have done much better at tailback.
