Reports out of Pointe Coupee this morning that Big Rick Berrios has passed away last night in his sleep.
RIP brother. He literally has fed thousands of Tiger fans and others over the years.
Omaha just won’t be the same without Big Rick cooking for anyone and everyone.

Big Rick and I sat next to each other for 21-0. What a great man with a huge heart and passion for all things LSU!

This man was a legend. He’s the reason why LSU fans started hanging out at Barrett’s Barleycorn in Omaha. RIP Big Rick.

He was good friends with my dad for years. My dad and I’s first trip to Omaha in 2009 we set up and helped him cook one day. From 7am omelets to 10pm he never left the tent and cooked around the clock. Funny thing was was that an entire of crew of people had been doing it with him for years and they must have had 25 men set up cooking different things. Random folks would just show up and say he man I brought y’all some racks of ribeyes and Rick would just grab em and start cooking em. It was such an amazing community of folks and everyone was welcome to stay and eat and drink.
He was a great guy and a real Tiger fan. I really will miss him.
