Good lord we were just incredibly talented. But that’s not what I wanted to talk about.

It’s amazing to see how much this offense has changed over the past decade. We legitimately went I-form on every 1st and 2nd down (and short 3rd downs too). Now, we’re working majority from the shotgun with at least 3 wide. I think part of our problem in trying to turn to spread is that Miles recruited players that fit his style of ground and pound, so our offensive linemen are all big guys that can move bodies around which is great for the running game, but awful for pass protection when there are edge rushers now that run sub 4.6. I’ve always thought a good fix for this would be to have a short passing game which joe brady is supposedly influencing into the offense. Despite that potential fix, we still won’t be able to beat Bama until we can get better pass protection. Joe Burrow played really well against Bama but he just had no time to throw. It surprises me that Coach O hasn’t been all over every big time OT the same way he’s all over these WRs when we’re pretty stacked at that position.

Good pass protection is the key to LSU beating Bama and winning the SEC.

Sounds awfully familiar, yet beat Bama, won SEC, played for NC?
Seems the best offense O has enjoyed was borrowed from your posted example of a bad offense, no?

I'm pretty sure Miles, like most coaches subscribed to his strengths, passing with accurate, smart QBs, and heavy run without them.
Only idiots feature weaknesses, even for the sake of balance, as only successful passing or running creates it.

Cynical Orgeron worshiper mantra.
So what has attacking their weakness profited in 3 tries?
Please advise.

Who cares how the offense looked? They played for a NC. Give me that any day over some fancy offense that can't score against Bama.

Also, besides being stupid, this OP is very shortsighted. That offense complemented that defense perfectly and vica versa. It kept that defense well rested and allowed those players to be the playmakers they were.

Some of you have no clue what you're talking about, you just want things to look good, but don't care if we lose in the process. Half of you would willfully support O continuing with 3 or 4 losses every year as long as we passed the ball more. It would give you some kind of success to point to in the case of losing games.

While I hated the O hire, I fully support him as lsu's coach. That said, I don't give a frick how we win games, as long as we win. Whether it's with great defense and a strong run game or a decent defense and a great offense, just win and the fan base will be happy.

We haven’t attacked their weakness. Wtf??

Fournette got killed running. Into 9-10 man boxes. Oooohhhhh let’s run toss dive (worst play in football) 40 times. Same with Guice. We played to their strength and we did it almost every year under miles.

Special teams and field position were our best friends that season. We averaged less total yards than 2018 but were more efficient. But we usually had great field position

Scored more points vs Bama. Whatchagot?

Orgeron has yet to produce any semblance of a season with rushing ydg to challenge the "(worst play in football)".....used in the NFL.
You're football ignorant to even call the toss power and toss iso a dive.

So far there han't been a better result from current staff to justify throwing shade on that statement.

That offense made all but one defense quit that year and was no slouch as many imply.
2011 still has the largest victory margin of any LSU FB team dating back to Wingard and also #3 all time TDs by rush and pass(purely offensive).

It wasn't bad

59th in total offense isn't on the list of worse LSU offenses.

Rog will argue with you until your fingers can't type anymore.

You're absolutely right about the games between Bama and LSU in the last 3 years. You have every right to be concerned about that game. I do as well but evidently I'm expecting a losing season even though I've given my prediction of 11-1.

He won't agree to anything, even if past records indicate that there needs to be improvements.

Good thing total offense isn't on a scoreboard,.... or a bad thing if if you suck at getting in the EZ.
Great for moral victories I guess.
