Derrick Davis Jr. and Sage Ryan. Really thought these two would have a larger role by now. Both highly recruited as well.

Definitely an area that I see us hitting the portal to improve. Jacoby Matthews??
Also Sage hasn't been phenomenal but he's earned a shot to earn a larger role. Davis is still very TBD

I think Jacoby Mathews would be a great addition if we can grab him. Depth alone would be nice.

Sage has shown improvement, was very concerned about his future at LSU early in the season. Hope both guys can end up making an impact.

We only talking about those 2, or other guys like Major and Greg Brooks who also have eligibility after this year? Jay Ward does too (Covid year like Brooks), but I'd be pretty surprised if he came back.

What a tiring topic. Sage Ryan is a redshirt freshman that is getting better. Derrick Davis was a bad eval and he doesn't move well enough to play safety. He should play LB. The gameplan clearly didn't call to have a nickel on the field in this past game since Arkansas couldn't throw.

They’ll hit the portal for a couple along with signing 3-4 from high school. The team will look like a real squad next year when we get back up to 85. We haven’t seen that in a while around here.

Davis does look huge for a Safety. You have to be quick to be that big for a safety.

He has improved. Learning the system and not relying simply on his athleticism. That strip tackle that got overturned was a thing of beauty. He didn't try to rip the ball out until the player was going down and, had they been 3 more yards away from the boundary, that would have been a forced fumble with an LSU recovery. He has 2 forced fumbles and 2 fumble recoveries this year.
I would also kind of like to see him have a chance to return punts or kickoffs. But things are working now so we probably shouldn't disrupt that now

Our only DBs that don’t have any remaining eligibility are Jarrick Bernard Converse, Joe Foucha, and Colby Richardson. Then there’s a possibility Garner could go to the NFL. There isn’t really any reason why Brooks, Ward, Burns, etc. should leave early.
