So much of the talk this week (and last) seems driven by the respective reputations of us and Bama. But those reputations are not the reality (anymore).

What they're saying (e.g. the Barrett guy on 870 last night who predicts Bama by 17), does not fully take into account:
- How talented we are
- How improved we are (do they realize we flipped the script with OM between '15 and '16) and how quickly we're improving this late in the season
- The results vs the one common opponent (Bama struggled; we dominated)

FTR, I don't deny Bama is a great team. One advantage they have is team chemistry. Theirs is fully mature. They know who they are, how they're going to play, etc. We're in about week 4+ on ours.

Not wrong but we dont know what this team is capable of. We dominated lesser teams...what can we do vs the elite.

Most LSU fans are like abused partners...Bama has beaten us for 5 years in a row so we hope for the best but expect the worst.

I agree with you here. There are many reasons things could be different for this game compared to our recent past. Number 1 is no more les miles not gonna waste ppls time explaining why, we've all seen the difference. The other 2 major reasons are Dave arranda and the changed style of play by both teams. Arranda has been the best dc in college football the past few seasons and has our defense playing at an elite level we are loaded with vets and game changers at every group on d with a much improved pass rush. Finally bamas switch to a running style qb and more spread sets is more of a matchup type LSU has been great against for a long time and Hurts inability to attack defenses vertically gives us a great chance at holding them down while LSUs more balanced attack now with a good passing game is even contributing to our rushing numbers. It takes so much pressure off of our running attack. Under miles we had to run the ball for first downs and big plays now if we can keep etling in 3rd and 4-5 we can covert first downs and keep their d on the field.

Who have we lost to AND when? Who has Bama beaten that is considered good AND when? If you follow the progression of the teams on Bama's schedule, only Ole Miss seems to be playing worse than when they played them. A lot of that has to do with injuries to a young OLINE and already depleted defense. OM defense is putrid.
We got them when they were bad. Bama just the opposite.
USC is NOT the same team Bama beat - they are perceived better, BUT don't be fooled. The teams they beat since the win streak have been declining fast - so they are like us. All I can go by is the eye test which is difficult to judge based on the given facts.

Our OLINE and Dlines hold the power of winning and losing for this game as it is usually the case. If you believe that Bamas dline is so
Much better than ours that scheming will keep us in the game, then probably count this as a loss because ultimately we are matching Sabans strength with Steve Ensminger. I'm taking Saban every time in that match up. Then Kiffin will do enough to win on offense.

So those jumping to conclusions is just not a good way to approach this game. Be cautiously optimistic.

I'm not sure this bama team is great. In fact, I'm pretty sure it isn't as good as other bama teams in the past. For one, they have played some shitty teams and simply overwhelmed them with talent. They have a very suspect secondary, and a TF at QB who is highly inaccurate.

Also, you are correct, many are discounting LSU because they have two losses. They aren't even considering the change in coaching, the fact that LSU has 10 likely NFL draftees coming up in April, and most certainly how the games have gone in BR over the last 12 years. Picking bama to win is not a problem. Picking them to blow LSU out in BR with a defense like that have, and a new found offense, is insane. Can LSU play sloppy and get blown out? Yes, of course. Can bama play sloppy and lose by double digits? Absolutely. It should be another classic, and LSU is due some good karma.

Dude, you have shite on LSU in every thread you could, all week. Don't come in here celebrating when LSU wins. Just keep your miserable mouth shut, and admit you were wrong, and don't try and justify. You are a real pos. Digging deep to justify your bama love.

Bama has beaten us 4 years in a row. If you are going to suck them off, at least get it right. Who in the frick has bama beat that is elite? A&m? Lmao. They gave up 700 yards to sorry arse Tenn, and only won due to 7 turnovers. It is funny bama gets a pass for dominating sorry teams, but LSU doesn't. We are just as talented as them, and more experienced. Gtfo

Seriously, anyone willing to give 17 points on this game is an actual drooling, helmet wearing retard.

I post arguments for BOTH TEAMS ON A DISCUSSION BOARD and ask people to be cautiously optimistic about a game.
I've had seaso. Tickets for longer than your arse was in nutville, so don't give me crap about how loyal of a fan I am or how much I eat, breathed and sleep LSU Sports. In fact I've been stuck in traffic driving in from Houston right now.
When you have a thread titled reputation vs reality and reality is we have not beaten a team with a top 30 defense nor have we beaten a team with a top 60 scoring defense, the cause for celebration about a new found offense HAS TO BE tempered with the reality of what our offense is - unproven at best.
Read the facts because that is what I presented.
IDGAF what your sorry opinion is about what I post except questioning my eediculous fandom of LSU Sports..
This board is NOT ABOUT BEING BLIND FABS AND PUMPING UP EACH OTHER.
