I live in Austin and I have not heard any over-confidence. The UT fans I’ve talked to are very concerned about the LSU defense and have little confidence in their offensive line and defense. Their belief is that Aranda and the LSU defense is arrogant and will leave Fulton and Stingley on islands against Johnson and Eagles which will allow Ehlinger to hit some long throws because they say Ehlinger is more accurate long than intermediate or short. I agree. I hope Aranda plays more zone.

I know Ehlinger is good but my impression has been he holds the ball too long and is prone to be inaccurate on intermediate throws and will put the ball up for grabs because he’s accustomed to his receivers beating Big 12 secondaries for a contested ball.

As for the UT defense, and I know this won’t be popular, LSU need to run the ball because UT essentially plays a 3-8 conceding 400 yards plus per game, so depends upon turnovers because it can’t matchup on the line of scrimmage.

Bottom line is that LSU is the more talented team. So, LSU needs to be smart, protect the ball on offense and let the defense and special teams win the game.

Did you just copy your response from another thread and make a new thread out of it?

Yes. Not trying to clog the board, just passing information.

It’s not audacity, I’m an LSU fan letting other LSU fans know what the pulse is here.

I live in Dallas/Ft. Worth and I know a lot of UT fans. I was expecting a lot of chirping this week, but it has been rather silent. I think they're nervous.

I agree with you. Once Herman and the fans saw the film from Georgia Southern the trash talking ceased.

UT fans concerns i've seen are from the LSU running game. If LSU sticks to running the ball against their 3-3-5 defense it would be a long day for Texas.

Hey bud have you ever heard of the term “lock down corner?” It would mean we aren’t afraid to play man-to-man because our corners can lock down their receivers no matter where they run to in the field!

Let Aranda game plan and you do what you do best, spectate!

I will be spectating like you. But if you think Eagles and Johnson aren’t capable, then you don’t know the players competing. LSU recruited Eagles hard. He was committed to LSU at one time.

Johnson isn’t this unstoppable monster I don’t get all this hype abt Johnson. He had 43 yards against GA last year when baker didn’t even play. I believe Fulton can hold his own against him in man coverage he held his own against the bama receiving core and any of the 3 bama receivers in Ruggs smith jeudy and even waddle are better than Johnson

Eagles isn’t even projected to start on their depth chart . Stingley will have no problem shutting him down

Their receivers are definitely stout. So are our corners, should be a great matchup. Hopefully we put ehlinger on his arse early and shake him up a bit.

Ehlinger is more accurate long

This absolutely is not true their vertical passing game struggles at times because Ehlinger isn’t as accurate throwing deep

Or we could go out and outscore them every which way.

I don't want LSU to play too conservative.

I imagine LSU will still be very balanced.

We can't always rely on the run game to score TDs.
