Yep. He's acting like Alleva and the boys drew this up one night over a case of beer and some nachos just to frick with the fans. It's just an initial rendering that LSU still has to review. This cat has sandy vaginitis.

Yeah it really is.

I don't care if you can't see the North side. that's what I think of when I think of the stadium and having a semblance of that on the south side is a welcome change.

You people are so damned obsessed with the north endzone, but it simply doesnt work with this scale of expansion. Im sorry that you cant see this.

And I'm sorry you think you're the foremost authority on aesthetics. You sound like an arrogant douche all because you used a graphic design program connected to your architecture home building job or whatever you do. Big fricking whoop.

I liked yours. I like these better. A lot better. Again, yours were on the BDS rip-off mode.

I agree with you. With that said, I'm commenting on THIS rendering, as that's all that's been released and all we have to go by. I didn't say I didn't like the final decision, because obviously, there isn't one...yet.

I just agree...something with the design just doesnt jive. I think its the overhang thing that kills it. Its weird and too big. I actually think it needs some exposed sopprt structure...open it up a bit

Fair enough. I think an exposed structure would kill any opportunity to resemble the north side. But at the same time, the part that juts out is necessary it seems to support the addition general seating.

Again, I like it.

Lots of good comments and thoughts in this thread.

My vision for TS (somewhat lighthearted so no need to overreact):

1) Cease with the exterior renovations immediately. Leave it dilapidated looking and call it “The Asylum.”
2) Require all students who want to attend games to complete a course in TS emergency evacuations to mitigate fire marshal concerns. From the Washington ’83 game that’s an addt’l 5K more students as is.

This. It's as if they extended the lower bowl outwards and made it taller. It doesn't even look like an upper deck. People see arches and start jumping for joy. It looks fricking retarded.

It matches the north side although on the north side its not as great of an overhang

The two images you've juxtaposed actually look nothing alike. Which is the problem. One is an imitation with proportions that are entirely off. It's not that I wouldn't want something that mirrors the north--it's that I DO want something that mirrors it. The renderings show that someone has taken that mirror and warped it, stretched it to fit a larger area without considering how the stretches and extensions conflict with the original inspiration.

Again, they look infinitely more similar than what is down there now. Have any of you even see what the south endzone looks like from the outside?

For now. I am not convinced that we wont eventually do the same to the NEZ, oaks or not. The plan, or was at one point, is to create a giant plaza and close off the road between the PMAC and TS. I also wouldn't put it past them to eventually tear down both of the sideline uppers (AGAIN) and follow a similar style as the SEZ. If they eventually utilize the space labeled "Future" on the designs for Gameday suites/condos/hotel, that would be a HUGE influx of money, without changing the footprint of the stadium and would be, as far as I am aware, unique to LSU.

I like the fact that it looks like one singular stadium between the lower bowl and the upper deck piece. I really like that all of the access ramps are housed internally or they tie into existing ramps on the east and west upper.

It isn't for everyone but I think it is a sincere attempt to capture the look of the NEZ, while creating a modern flexible space. There are issues I have with parts of it, and hopefully those can be tweaked as they get some of the public feed back, but overall I am satisfied. No matter what they put in the SEZ, they were not going to please everyone, as evident by this thread.

They look a lot alike. They dont have to be 100% alike. It looks great.
