No player is going to crap on other players like this clown does.

Bravemouth was probably at best a cheerleader.

Well, I'm not exactly sure what the point of your posting is at this point. However, I can also do the same...........

In 2004-05 we ranked 10th in attendance..
NCAA 2004-05 attendance numbers....

In 2005-06 we ranked 15th in attendance...
NCAA 2005-06 Attendance numbers......

In 2006-07, the year after Seimone graduated I might add, we ranked 17th in attendance..
NCAA 2006-07 Attendance Numbers......

In 2007-08, Sylvia Fowles final season, we ranked 18th in attendance....
NCAA 2007-08 Attendance Numbers.....

So, I'm not sure exactly what your point is? If its to prove that I had my numbers off slightly, congratulations. You've succeeded. If its to prove LSU women's basketball is irrelevant, you've failed miserably. LSU ranked 10th, 15th, 17th, and 18th during those years.....................out of over 100 Div I programs (the NCAA only list 100 at the most on its site, however). So, if you want to compare LSU to it's peers then I'd say that most Div I programs would KILL for the fan support our program has gotten.

But why stop there.........We know LSU football is the big draw here at the university. But what about all the other sports we have? Well let's see..............

2004-05
Baseball - 7,508 Women's basketball - 7,302

2005-06
Baseball - 7,320 Women's basketball - 6,273

2006-07
Baseball - 7,330 Women's basketball - 5,573

I dunno dude..........................looks like when we win, LSU women's basketball is almost as popular as LSU baseball.............which is the second (or third depending on men's basketball every year) most popular sport here at LSU. So, I guess this means that LSU baseball is also "irrelevant".

I could compare LSU women's basketball attendance to LSU gymnastics, soccer, softball, volleyball, golf, swimming, and track and field. But, I think we all know who'd win the attendance numbers there, right?

So again................what's the point? That we shouldn't be supporting a women's basketball program because to many people its "irrelevant"? Doesn't make a lot of sense to me and, thankfully it doesn't make much sense to our athletic administration.

there are actually well over 300 D1 programs so top 20 or so att. is top 10%. Do we make $$$ in it, no, but we dont in any sports but football and men's bbal each year and to have those sports as a NCAA school, you have to meet certain conditions, one of them is to offer may sports for many people

I think it's closer to 300 than 100. FWIW.

my point is that even when WBB is one of the top 3 programs in the country, wheich they were in 2007, they still did not receive the fan support of even a top 15 program

so you are comparing the apex of women's hoops to a trough in LSU baseball success (relatively speaking)? nice. a much better comparison is LSU from 1996-2000. in addition, you also have to consider stadium capacities. where WBB was playing the half empty stadiums at their apex, LSU baseball still has a waiting list for season tickets

considering caldwell makes as much salary as all those coaches combined, you feel free to draw any conclusions you'd like

my point is simple.....top 3 program or simply mediocre, the difference in WBB attendance is only going to vary by about 2,000 people per game and the arena is still going to be half empty

dude, some of your points are decent, but this is just an outright lie, DD $200k, Softball $250k, Gold 160k, volleyball $110, so there is NC's total and you still have 3 more coaches...plus WB coaches make much more than any other sport you mention, is $700 a bit high, maybe, but it is near going rate and if she wins SEC or gets to elite 8 in NCAA a few times it is low.

Rouge, if that's your point, again there are a bunch of sports here that need to be done away with. Even if you compare LSU MEN's basketball. When they play lesser teams, the arena is also half empty. There is NO TEAM that plays in the PMAC that consistently fill that 13K seat arena. So, whether the arena is half empty or not seems to be an issue for all the sports that play in that arena (basketball, volleyball, gymnastics). However, if you want to measure attendance based upon how the teams draw when they play in big games, that's a little more fair. The ONLY TEAM at this university that consistently sells out EVERY GAME is football. If that's the standard, then everyone else is failing miserably.

Caldwell's salary is irrelevant because the market demands that you pay good coaches what the market says they're worth. Come on now, we've been through this ad nauseum on this board.

Okay, but they still had higher attendance than NINETY PERCENT of the other programs. Again, I'm still not seeing what exactly is your point? Because LSU women's basketball is the third or fourth most popular sport at LSU, it's a waste of time / money?

Why not just celebrate the success the program is currently having and the bright future that it appears to have? We have a great YOUNG coach, who's probably not gonna leave here. She gets tremendous support from the administration.............and she has a fan base that is just waiting for a return to the elite years so that we can have more crowds like this for big games..............

LSU vs Tennessee 2005

LSU vs Mississippi State 2006

LSU vs Baylor 2006

LSU vs UConn 2008

LSU vs Vandy 2008

It's always funny to me that so many people act like these games never happened. No team is going to sell out every game unless they're a perennial top 4 program. But if you're drawing large crowds for your big games, then why would someone think that means you don't have a good following..................or that you're irrelevant?

No.

It's to bad Title IX doesn't mandate interest and attendance. Maybe you can talk to Michelle about getting that changed.

That is YOUR opinion and saying "other than Coach P" kind of defeats my point. In any case, I view another coach (other than coach P) as "over the top" on and off the court, but again, IMO, not fact or fiction, just as some think Les is a "goof", I do not happen to agree, but it is just how one views them, a judgment call. Sort of like me thinking the last six games was a great coaching job, some might say the 4-6 start was a poor coaching job. In the end we will know how good this staff is by the long term win/loss as well as how they conduct themsevles in public and how long they stay at LSU. I am hopeful the verdict will be a big +, but only time will tell.

So 1 assistant coaches mistake makes the attitude of the other assistant coaches innapropriate? That is ridiculous! Would you care to give me an example how the other assistants act in an innapropriate manner?
