Offensively, the best team ever. But not so much on defense.
That defense gave up 38 points to an overrated Texas team and even worse 38 points to a Vanderbilt team who won 3 games.
I’ll take the 2003 and 2011 defense any day over the 2019 team.

This. He should have sailed into the sunset after 2019.

Right and the fact that we were THIIIISS CLOSE to a national championship last year had we just had an average defense is even more impressive. Brian Kelly gets a lot of hate but he's a quality coach. Glad he's a Tiger.

Never in my life would I think I'd see the team and myself celebrate a 22 point loss. This was the lowest point and getting up off the canvas all in one play.

Orgeron walked out on LSU as a player and head coach! To hell with him!!

If Les wasn't a perv, I'd still love Les for what he did for LSU. Is your statement indicating that you would rather have 10 win season regularly over having a Natty in 2019?

No
2019 was the greatest season ever, thanks Joe & O
2020 & 2021 were terrible & should have never happened. Thanks O
He doesn’t get a pass just cause he won us a natty

He didn't get a pass. He was fired.
Now we can view him as the man who brought us the best season ever because he's not actively hurting LSU. Its 2024. 20-21 dont matter anymore. If you think about those 2 years more than 2019 when you hear Ed's name, you are just a negative person.

Bull shite. I blame O for our lack of depth at DL & DB last year. It takes 2-3 years for BK to build this program back up. It worked in year 1 bc he lucked out in the portal. Not so lucky last year.
He’s starting to build his program now with this years incoming class & next years

While it was pretty low you could argue that 1994 was the lowest point of the program with Curley Exiting

That’s like saying we’re thankful for Les & 07 and forgetting that he held this program down for the next 10 years

Apples to Oranges given Les' off field issues.

Legit question, by what measure are you using to say that Les held the program down for 10 years? Like who are all the LSU coaches that have been more successful than Les that you would look to and say Les should have been that successful?

He had the talent to win multiple championships, but could never beat Bama. Any remotely successful SEC coach could have done better.
Glad his humbling stint at KU is keeping him out of the HOF

So name all of the coaches that did better. He was in the same division as the greatest football dynasty of all time.

With equal or better talent on his team.
Hugh Freeze & Gus Malzahn beat them twice
Bob Stoops, Urban, Dabo to mention others

All praise and respect to Jontre Kirklin. Bro had the heart of a Tiger for real.
