To be fair to Les, he wasn’t the only coach that thought this. Chase could have been a bad arse safety under Aranda. In hindsight it’s easy to see that playing receiver was the right option but at the time it wasn’t as sure of a thing as you make it seem.

His last full season was 9-3 with a cancelled game against McNeese. So essentially 10-3 is mediocre in your opinion
Les was 10-10 his last 3+ years against the SEC West. I’ll let you select your own word for that level of performance.

You felt good about it?

LSU went 2-3 in the last five games that season. Did that get you pumped up for 2016?

Two of those three losses:
Sat, Nov 14 HOME GAME vs UR Arkansas L31-14 / 7-2 (4-2)
Sat, Nov 21 @ 22 Ole Miss L38-17 / 7-3 (4-3)

Yeah, nothing mediocre about getting blown out of your own stadium by an unranked Arkansas team. Second loss in as many years to the mighty Razorbacks. Ah, the good ole days....

Lol what? He was dominating at WR and the kid said he wanted to play WR. That’s as easy as it gets

I love how you were downvoted, probably by the usual suspects, for the truth.
I’ll add finished unranked in ‘14 and blown out three consecutive weeks in ‘15.

How'd you come up with the arbitrary 20 game sample size? We play 8 conference games a year, any reason you chose to leave out 4?

Tit strikes again

He cost the LSU fans alot of misery. He cost the university a ton of money over the years and several championships. I didnt realize until halfway through this year of just how badly screwed up the program was when he was coach. Frick Les.

It took the Troy game for me to realize it when it was apparent how thin the lines were and how we lacked tackles.

I used Les’ last 3 years, plus the few games on the season when he was fired. Nothing really arbitrary - it’s was Les’ last few years, when he was underachieving in a big way.

Les was 10-10 against the West - you know, our main competition to get to Atlanta. But since you asked, he was 15-11 overall SEC during that time. All with elite talent. Stellar.

Hes not completely wrong.

RedTigerRulz

LunchBox is one of the posters on here that will never understand how much of a clown show Miles was. His game-day coaching and use of talent had much to be desired.

I bleed purple and gold but I know what I see on the field and the product Miles put out relative to the talent on the team was not on par.

Had Miles not followed Saban he would have NEVER had the winning % he did.

LSU was set to accomplish so much after the team Saban built.

2004 wasn't very much fun for me. Squeakers against Oregon State, Ole Miss and Troy; we got thrashed by Georgia, and to cap it all off we looked overmatched against fricking Iowa in the bowl game as Saban quit on the team on his way out the door to Miami

2005-2007, the early Les years, were way more fun than the late Saban ones.

In 04 the Sr QB was garbage, the 2nd QB was an RS Freshman. Had Saban stayed we contending for more than 1 Natty between 05 and 07.

But I will give you this, Saban has an issue with playing young QBs.

Had he just started and played JR the whole season in 04 LSU would have been much better off. JR was going to make mistakes and LSU was not going undefeated but JR could have improved throughout the entire season. Marcus Randall was not an SEC level QB.
