Look, I appreciate what Dinardo did for LSU and believe that he doesn't get as much credit as he deserves. But this statement just fricking asinine. There is no way you can objectively believe that.

This times a billion. Anyone saying DiNardo was a better recruiter than Miles is being completely dishonest.

I don't think he is the great recruiter all you dumbasses make him out to be. He didn't get great recruiting classes at Ok st. A great recruiter at LSU would always have top 5 classes.

Dinardo was a better recruiter

This is an uninformed opinion. DiNardo thought it was a better idea to recruit nationally than in Louisiana, all this while letting our best recruits go to Florida and FSU. He didn't have a clue.

Soooo, he made up for it by being a good coach, look at his record..

Why,, because of something Saban did 8 years ago, really?

Dinardo was a better recruiter.

Let's assume that was even a remote truth. :winkwink: So, what about his W-L record? Does that mean that you are saying Les is a good coach? Going by the record, he is..

You can't have it both ways...

You are seriously retarded.

What LSU is in the cfb world is huge in recruiting. Winning 2 national titles and being known as one of the best programs in the country makes kids want to come here.

what state did Saban leave LSU?

The answer is he left them after a 9-4 season and a bowl LOSS, with an unsteady, thin OL and a young inconsistent qb with an even more unproven backup. And of course then Miles got Katrina on his plate the first week. And he had to learn SEC ball on the fly. And he screwed the pooch against an inferior team (Tennessee) under circumstances that fans gave him a pass for, and rolled out ten straight wins before losing to a BETTER Georgia team. And let's not pretend that the player cupboards were bare when Saban got here either. NFL rosters would disagree.

Saban gets credit for 2000-2004.
Miles 2004-2012.
Spin it how you want, but that fact remains.
Speculate until your wife comes home, but they OWN their actual win-loss records, not your IMAGINARY PROJECTIONS of what their records mighta/shoulda/would been.

Les pisses me off as much as anyone but damn! The man wins. Ssban built LSU back up, fact. Les has done a great job maintaining and slightly improving the product. Although I feel he has hit a platu.

Anyawy, Les will NEVER get the respect that he deserves until he's gone. Then some people will remember how good his tenure actual was. Especially if we hire some hotshot and we struggle to win 8 games a year!

Les isn't perfect but he is our coach and he loves LSU.

Can we stop with the "Saban made LSU what it is today" crap?!? The guy has been gone 8 years for chrissake. The program could just as easily have slipped back into DiNardo-land.

Frickin Saban c**k suckers. Go to the Bama board.

Ask Miami how that plan is working out. They have every competitive advantage over Florida and FSU, to include great weather, facilities, beaches, pipeline to NFL, and national championship pedigree. They still suck. Miami is truly a program that's tailor made for a coach to succeed, and they're struggling.

You need a coach that can recruit. No program can recruit itself.

Y'all have no concept of reality. Dinardo was recruiting kids to a team that sucked for years. He is the one that began locking down in state talent, saban improved on it.

As your much misinformed brother stated earlier,,, "put a moron as HC LSU will still have top recruiting classes". Do it, see how long that dog wags it tail? Wanna take a look at all the other TOP RATED football schools in the US that thought that? I assure you, you don't wanna go there.. You're wrong.

You are really saying that Dinardo is a better recruiter than miles? Come on. It's obvious that you have blind hatred towards miles but your statement is totally asinine.

I wouldn't have typed mine out if I would have seen your response first... This is exactly right.... IN FACT, they could add Bama to that list... WHY in the world have they not thought about that? They want it both ways...

Had Saban never left: LSU probably wins national titles in 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2011.

No way we win in 2005 even if we finished undefeated.

2006 is very possible, but Florida was stacked too.

2007 if we had won in 2006 I don't know if we win in 2007. Maybe Dorsey and some others that came back leave might have been like 2010 Bama.

Yep, Saban's personality intimidated reporters and the fan base.

The fact that he (the team cuz Saban never lost) lost 3 games in 2004 AFTER winning a NC was telling...

Granted, Saban set a foundation, but after 8 years removed, get real. This thinking is completely irrelevant.

Is Gundy a better coach since he has had more success at Ok. St.

I think miles is a good recruiter not a great one. A great recruiter would bring in elite QBs. It's hard to recruit them though when they see the success your offense has had throwing the ball. A great recruiter would sell them on LSU making them overlook how bad the passing game is. Agree or disagree?

This is also an uninformed opinion. You maybe thinking of Mike Archer. DiNardo stopped the hemorrhaging of top players leaving La. He didn't get them all like Saban and Miles have done for the most part, but he keep the majority.
