also, are we going to the SEC Tourney this year?

I have a law school intersession final that Friday of the SEC tourney, but afterward I would be down. We'll stay in touch. I'll be in town for the Ole Miss series if you wanna tailgate a little before the Friday or Saturday games.

Just playing with the pairings and this is about the best I could come up with:

1 Unc/miss st
2 Vandy/nc st
3 Lsu/louisville
4 Fullerton/ucla
5 Uva/south carolina
6 Fsu/ark
7 Oregon st/okla
8 Oregon/ indiana

Some reason I see south alabama getting dumped in the tally regional as #2.

If clemson gets hot then they potentially could be paired with lsu, but for now they are #2 in louisville's regional. But as usual chalked full of sec/acc matchups.

I'm looking for that to be the case this year, as you said it happens very often. The SEC and ACC are stacked with 5-7 teams that have the potential to win the Regional rounds. Will certainly be interesting.

Attempting pairing like you, complete guesses...

(1) UNC / Arkansas
(8) Florida State / Miss State

(4) Virginia / South Carolina
(5) Oregon State / NC State

(3) LSU / South Alabama
(6) Oregon / Indiana

(2) Vanderbilt / Louisville
(7) Cal State Fullerton / UCLA

Exactly and sometimes we get years like 2010 where Auburn and GT host regionals and bama and clemson come out of them. Looking forward to seeing 3 or 4 good sec/acc matchups in supers.

I'll take a crack at it:

#1 North Carolina/Arizona State
#8 Florida State/Arkansas
#4 Cal State Fullerton/North Carolina State
#5 Oregon State/Oklahoma
#3 Vanderbilt/Louisville
#6 Virginia/UCLA
#2 LSU/Oklahoma
#7 Virginia/South Carolina

Both have the vandy/louisville matchup. Interesting

I had to go look it up but i remember vandy being #1 and not getting out of their regional. I thought louisville beat them but it was michigan.

Louisville did make it to Omaha that year after beating Missouri and Okla St.

That was crazy. That Vandy team may have been one of the most talented teams to never get to Omaha, much less most talented in general.

Yes 07 was a crazy year in general. 9 out of 16 regional hosts didnt make it out of their regional and only 3 national seeds made it to omaha.

I was going to school at wichita state and we had the best chance that year until the frickin 'eaters

It happened again in 2010 but that is misleading because there were some interesting choices for national seeds.

coastal, louisville, georgia tech

I really dislike some of the decisions the selection committee makes, and its every year, and its never consistent. I also really wish college baseball would be cared more about by the nation so that the selection committee's decisions can be exposed and a change can be made.

ULL hosts South Alabama this weekend. IF Ull can take 2 of 3 they will be tied with South Alabama for the conference lead and have identical records. Even if they dont take 2 of 3 i cant see south Alabama hosting.

I just went an looked back that coastal team hosted regionals 2 years in a row. The year they were a national seed they were 51-7 and lost in the super to eventual champ USCe by a combined 2 runs in the supers. Then I saw UF was a national seed at 35-20 one of those year. This year has team with some crazy good record from what I can see the last couple years all the national seeds had about 12-14 losses. This year we mite have 3 power conference teams with single digit losses pretty outstanding.

Arkansas will host if it gets to 20 SEC wins and finshes 3rd in the SEC. Teams have hosted with RPIs in the 30s before.
