The "gold" is actually a yellow. But I never call it that, purple and gold! The saints' gold is more of gold in my eyes.. it's like when I hear someone calling the Steelers black and gold I could slap them because it's yellow.. But heir color is almost identical to LSU's. But no, it's called purple and gold.

Agreed. I will always wear "purple and gold" to go see my Tigers play but I'm going to wear a yellow shirt. LSU and Steelers wear yellow. Saints wear gold.

Somebody better get Dykstra on the horn....

The actual color that LSU has used for decades is commonly called "sunflower gold". I guess people who primarily right with crayons can't get past the yellow references.

imo, if LSU were to go to a gold more resembling the Saints I think they should go with the Pro-Combat helmet.

Now, I hated the pro-combat uniform in general but the helmet was cool. It didn't have that dull bronze look that most "gold" helmets do (saints, washington, notre dame, etc.), but actually looked brighter and closer to gold.

I actually wouldn't mind seeing our current uniform with the pro-combat helmet. Not a permanent change, just a test run to see how it looks and maybe make it a once a year thing (like the purple jerseys) if people like it.

i hated that damn Nike Combat Uni...helmet included. actually, ESPECIALLY the helmet, BECAUSE of THAT gold.

Love our traditional version! Best uni in football in my opinion.

i do, however, like the look of the purple jersey more than the white.
