I WANT McMahon to succeed because I want LSU basketball to succeed. Hell, I was one of the (relatively) few in attendance on Tuesday and will be so in the future. It's not enjoyable to watch losing basketball, so if I wanted McMahon to fail, and by association LSU basketball to fail I wouldn't attend the games or argue with all of us knuckleheads on here. But at some point you have to look at all of the information/data over nearly 90 games now, both for LSU basketball and the sport as a whole, and start to interpret what you are seeing. That evidence shows its increasingly unlikely McMahon is ever going to have any significant degree of success at LSU...if any.

I will say this though. The refusal by some to attribute any degree of responsibility to the HC for what has been (to this point) 2.5 years of mostly losing basketball is bizarre relative to any other HC, in any sport, over the last 40+ years (at least). I can't recall another instance where this degree of losing has not only been tolerated by some, but shrugged off as it is not a problem. The only conclusion I can draw as to why this outlier is the case is because the ouster of the former HC was, itself, an outlier. Wade was the only HC in my lifetime who was let go despite being both very popular with the fanbase and winning. So I think you have some who feel almost like a motherly duty to protect their "runt" of the litter because everyone still fawns over the other, more success and well liked, pup. Deep down they know the results are bad. But they suppress that knowledge.

Even though Shaq still averaged 14 points 12 boards and 4 blocks a game!

Corey Chest is extremely raw.

Imagine LSU having a 14 point, 12 board, 4 block type freshman on this team!!!

Stanley Roberts was a prop 48, how Dale Brown didn't see to it that Stanley made the grades to stay on the team is beside me!

Look the players on those teams the last 4 years of the Brown era.

Dale's time was over when Shaq left for the draft and Dale absolutely set the program back 10 years!!!!

I believe Dale should have been gone before the Lester Earl fiasco. frick Dale for not keeping it squeaky clean after antagonizing the NCAA for years. And frick LE and Roy Williams.
